These one shot dungeons all feature compelling stories, high adventure, and almost certain death with AD&D style dungeons, 5th edition rules.
The Descents will each take a party of between 3 and 5 level appropriate adventurers 1-3 sessions to play through.
We strongly advise against players using characters that they are attached to, as they probably won’t come out the other side.
Bring your barge poles, bring your healer, bring multiple character sheets.
Each Dangerous Descents adventure contains everything you need to run the descent, including:
The Adventure backstory. Information on the background of the adventure site is included at the very beginning of every PDF. This may be learned by the players in time, or just used to inspire the Dungeon Master.
Call to adventure. How did the characters find themselves at the dungeon? Each adventure includes four great reasons that your endless stream of characters might be standing before the precipice.
Encounter Details. Each encounter features read aloud text, and flavour text for the DM’s eyes only. Details of monsters and items are included with each encounter, as well as information about how much treasure and XP to award the players.
Player map and a DM maps. Every adventure comes with a professional DM map created by Aaron Z. Arrick detailing all of the secret tunnels, traps, and other nasty things, as well as player-safe map that doesn’t ruin any surprises. These maps are included as part of the PDF, and as separate 72dpi JPEGs that are easy to import into Roll20 and Fantasy Grounds.
The Big Boss. What is the Tomb of Horrors without Acererak? Alien without the Xenomorph? Mordor without Sauron? Every great story needs a terrifying enemy, and these are no different. Each Descent features a truly terrifying foe to ruin your party morale.
Appendices of the custom NPCs, Monsters and items. At least one custom NPC, Monster or item is included with each descent, in addition to the big boss. These are balanced, fun, and original to keep your players on their toes!
Dangerous Descents 2 is a collection of four adventure modules for specified levels. Each module features level appropriate challenges, monsters, and traps for a party of 3-5 characters. The modules are presented as both full colour PDFs that look fantastic on any device, and as a printer friendly PDF designed to save you ink and look great on paper for that truly old school feel.
A powerful curse transformed the citizens of Earathyr into hideous monstrosities, while the town leader, Barton Wordswell, was tortured into the shape of a massive, corrupted weeping willow tree. Now, the land around Earathyr is sickened and dying, and its corruption is slowly spreading outwards, under the influence of the corrupted tree. The party must find the source of the corruption and find a way to destroy or purge it or die trying.
They say that the Brakenbrock Caverns are the remains of a huge dragon turned to stone. That the many chambers and corridors are organs and veins. Most importantly they say that this dragon used to eat gold, and that its stomach is filled to the brim with coins. Are you the ones to determine if any of this is true? And if it is, what kind of parasitic monsters, and dangerous treasure hunters stand between you, and the gold.
The labyrinth beneath Hollowfoot forest has long been the home of many fierce and terrible demons. A kidnapped child has drawn you to the labyrinth. You must survive the puzzles, the traps, and the monstrous combat within to save the child, and quite possibly, the world.
Valkyries have overthrown the city of Darkmage. The shattering of a protective crystal, which has kept the city safe for millennia, has allowed the Valkyries to swarm the city in a surprise, very well coordinated attack. Will the party sneak through the remains undetected and re-establish the protective shield, or will they go in weapons drawn and fight their way to the war council's chambers.
We have smashed our first two stretch goals and are barrelling towards unlocking an extra adventure module!

Risks and challenges
This is our fifth Kickstarter, and we think we've ironed out all the creases. The majority of the work for the adventure modules is already completed, and there are no expected delays.
Since this is a digital project, there are no risks involving shipping or production, the PDFs will be available to download by backers through DriveThruRPG.
We've had issues with email distribution in the past, but have revised the way we send people their digital download links, and have solved that issue.
