You are all AWESOME! We owe everything to you guys we've raised over £129000!! We seriously can't thank you enough!

There are just about 24 left of the Carbon 2185 | A Cyberpunk RPG Kickstarter Campaign and we've come so far! Because of all the extra wonlongs we've raised, we'll be able to invest a lot more into the Core Rulebook than we had ever anticipated!

Quickstart Guide LAUNCHED!

Approximately 5 minutes after this Update goes live, we'll send out the Quickstart Guide to everyone on the Carbon 2185 Newsletter Mailing List! If you didn't get it, check your spam or promotions folder! If you haven't signed up for the list yet, do that now and you'll be sent the Quickstart PDF within an hour!

www.dragonturtlegames.com/carbonrpg <--- Sign up here!

New signups will be sent the PDF within an hour of signing up along with their confirmation email!

Why send it out this way?

We're sending it out this way because while the campaign is still live, we have no way of knowing your contact information to send it out to you unless you sign up to the mailing list. This also gives those ON the mailing list, but who couldn't back the campaign for whatever reason, a reward for being interested in, and staying up to date with Carbon 2185 | A Cyberpunk RPG!

Can I Stream/YouTube/Podcast this?

You can absolutely stream, record, broadcast games using the Quickstart Guide! You can review it, play it, share it with your fellow cyberpunks, homebrew it, post those homebrews online! What you obviously cannot do is sell Carbon 2185 content.

Updates and Feedback

Once a month we'll be updating the Quickstart Guide to add new features, fix any errors or issues, and keep it in line with any changes we make to the Core Rulebook during development. We also intend to improve the visuals of the Quickstart Guide, and add more artwork as we get it.

If you find any issues or typos with the Quickstart Guide, head over to www.dragonturtlegames.com/quickstart and fill in the form there. This is the easiest way for us to see what everyone is saying all in one place and make changes based on what you've all said.

Origins?

Normally we would profile a character Origin, but to be honest with you all, we've been working so hard on getting the Quickstart Guide ready that we haven't had time to cover the Origins in tonight's update!

Tomorrow's update will come AFTER the end of the campaign, and will be the last of our Daily Updates! It's a shame to end these updates, but we must focus on delivering the product now!

In tomorrow's update, we'll take a look at the Synth Origin, and reflect on the campaign, so stay tuned for that one!

I would suggest not to create new save types. IMO adding back in reflex saves, mind savea and there was a third.

Just use the names 5e gave us..dex saves, int saves, etc., relating to the stat.

Some nice stuff in the quick start.
I saw a reference to reflex saves. What is a reflex save? :-)

The artwork is great. Not sure if the actual content layout and design is representatative of the final product...but it is not quite working for me anyways.

Please lose the marksman fighting style...one of my banes from 5e.

Great. That is good to hear. Thanks for hearing and addressing my concerns. It may seem like a silly question, but there have been some game books I've backed where so much slipped through their editing and review process that they were hard to fully endorse.

I look forward to seeing more of what you all can do!

      Hi Greg!
We really appreciate the feedback so far!
We only started work on the Quickstart Guide apprpx. 30 hours before sending it out to you all, which is why it's v0.1.
We are of course working with professional proofreaders and an editor on the final books.
We did a couple of proofreading passes of this document, but nothing as extensive as we normally would due to time constraints.

Thanks for sharing the Quickstart. Looks beautiful so far!
I just have one question. And I hope it doesn't cause offense, because I want you to put out the best and most professional product you can. Will the other books be undergoing more formal proofreading than the Quickstart did? I'm only about 8 pages in and have already submitted about that many comments on spelling, grammar, and basic syntax. They are fairly minor, but jarring nonetheless.
I'm happy to submit suggestions for fixes on something as short as a Quickstart, but probably can't put in as much time on a whole book or three. And from my experience, it can be hard to get buy-in from a group if they notice readability issues or inconsistencies so often.

Thanks Jefferson! We've got a few really helpful pieces of feedback already yours included. We'll probably put out V0.2 by next Friday for everyone

i sent a few comments to the link above. The two biggest aissues I saw was not explaining how ability modifiers were calculated & how to get a Critical Hit & the damage caused by a Critical Hit. I know how these things are generated in 5E but if someone grabs this & doesn't know 5E, they won't know how to calculate these results.

      ill effects*

70-80 years is the normal lifespan for a badlander who dies of old age. This is considered short in 2185 when healthy people can live to their upper 90s or possibly past 100.
The I'll effects of the radiation can be somewhat counteracted by the medicines and treatments available leaving a particularly lucky badlander able to reach 100 under very unusual circumstances

      Slightly confused.

It says a badlander lives between 70 and 80 years with possibly 100.

But under hollowsight it says the radiation has doomed them to a short lifespan?

Is 80-100 years old considered a short life in 2185 due to how advanced technology is?
