About this project
SON OF LUCIFER
Son of Lucifer is a very personal documentary focusing intensely on three generations in my family: myself, my mother, and her parents. The film is going to be brutally hard to bring forth, but something I feel very important to tell. A tapestry of stories from a variety of people that focus ideally on a supernatural and unexplained series of events circling around my family and a brutal cold case crime in their hometown back in 1977. My intent is to focus in on all of us individually, the stories told by those close to us, and ultimately peering further into the holes in this complicated history of ours. One that is so strange it feels like a horror story.
The reason I’m asking for your help, Kickstarter community, is because I want this to be told. I’ve made amateur, no-budget films before and share them virally for no-profit, but if there’s one story I want to actually put out into the world – it is this one. I need help for the traveling of my film – as I will be returning to my family’s hometowns and shooting there – as well as money to help pay for festival submission fees. Another thing I need help with is transferring the vintage VHS home videos of my family to digital files for the sake of editing them alongside freshly shot footage.
Help make this happen, guys. I’m not asking for a whole lot, just a little, and I know it’s enough to put this out there in the way I want to tell it. No donation is too little. The depths this story goes will surely not disappoint, and I promise to deliver it to you as raw as I possibly can.
That video doesn't show much and I still don't understand what this documentary is supposed to be about. What exactly IS it about?
My goal is to try to keep the deepest corners of the story as hidden away as possible. The multiple strands this story takes you is enough to almost give one whiplash. Not only is the film going to zoom in on my own personal journey collecting even more information about my family's twisted history, but it's also sternly about how these said family members connect to a variety of weird and mysterious events throughout the years; mostly of which connect eerily to Satanism. The multiple stories circle around my family's hometown - which is a city that was once inhabited by a certain Oscar-winning actor my grandmother claims to have known.
