Delivery Day, a dark comedy film that pushes the topic of sexism, follows a couple on the final hours before the birth of their child.
Hi, I'm Doug Helmick, director of my new and upcoming film "Delivery Day," and founder of Chiaro Films Productions. To get to know more about me, please see my biography at the bottom right of this page. Thanks for stopping by the Kickstarter Delivery Day Fund Drive page and supporting my independent film. I could not have gotten this far without the support of my family and friends who have been there since day one!
In a comedic, yet controversial environment, a couple struggles to keep their relationship in tact, even with the birth of their child on the way. When arrogance meets ignorance, hardship begins and each show their true colors. Steve, who is an immature and self-centered boyfriend, doesn’t comprehend the responsibilities that come with a child, nor does he care to comfort the perspective mother. Channon, who is prissy, discontent, and argumentative, just wants her boyfriend to comfort her, but he can’t get past her unappreciative attitude. The relationship was going well until the pregnancy came into the picture and their personalities collided. "Delivery Day," a short dark comedy film that pushes the topic of sexism, follows a couple during the final hours before the birth of their child. During the birth, Steve becomes great friends with the doctor and the story changes perspectives, sending the film in a completely new direction.
This Kickstarter is designed to help us raise our goal, which is $350. Of course, if we can raise more, that’d be awesome to help cover all the costs of production. The money we raise will help pay for equipment rentals (lens, camera supports and rigs, etc), locations, catering, props, makeup, building supplies, and overall production costs. Donate anything you can, even if it’s a dollar. Every penny counts! And with every donation, you will receive a free gift. Some of the gifts include a compilation DVDs, signed movie posters, a signed copy of Delivery Day on DVD, free tickets to the screening, early screening opportunities, and even a producer’s credit! For more information on the rewards please check out the right side of the page.
A little bit of information on how this all works. When you pledge a donation, you are saying that you will donate the amount that you have stated. The money will not be taken out of your account until we meet or surpass our goal. The reason this is done is because if we don’t raise the amount we have stated, we will not receive any funding at all and your money will not be touched. Kickstarter is an all or nothing website! Either we get this money and we can make this film, or we don’t and the film cannot happen. With the help of our friends and family, we can make this happen. Please find it in your heart to help out our cause. I promise you will not be let down. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me at my e-mail or my Facebook page. Both links are included below. Also, below this are several questions that you may have about the Kickstarter process. Thank you so much for your time! You guys are awesome!

What is Kickstarter?
Kickstarter is a new way to fund creative projects.
We believe that:
• A good idea, communicated well, can spread fast and wide.
• A large group of people can be a tremendous source of money and encouragement.
Kickstarter is powered by a unique all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands.
Every Kickstarter project must be fully funded before its time expires or no money changes hands.
1. It's less risk for everyone. If you need $5,000, it's tough having $2,000 and a bunch of people expecting you to complete a $5,000 project.
2. It allows people to test concepts (or conditionally sell stuff) without risk. If you don't receive the support you want, you're not compelled to follow through. This is huge!
3. It motivates. If people want to see a project come to life, they're going to spread the word.
How do I pledge?
To pledge to a project, just click the green “Back This Project” button on any project page. You will be asked to enter your pledge amount and select a reward. From there, you will go through the Amazon checkout process. Note that you must finish the Amazon checkout process for your pledge to be recorded.
If I make a pledge, when is my card charged?
If the project you’re backing is successfully funded, your card will be charged when the project reaches its funding deadline. If the project does not reach its funding goal, your card is never charged. That's why we call them pledges.
If funding does not succeed do backers pay anything?
Nothing. If funding fails, all pledges are canceled and that's that.
Is my pledge amount publicly displayed?
No. Only you and the project creator will be able to see your pledge amount.
Can I pay with a check? Send cash by mail?
Sorry, Kickstarter only supports credit card payments through Amazon Payments.
Do I have to pay with Amazon? Why can’t I use Paypal? Why can't Kickstarter just take my credit card info?
Kickstarter uses Amazon's Flexible Payments Service, which enables our all-or-nothing funding method. No other credit card processor currently supports our requirements. We're always talking with other companies and exploring other services, so expect more options in the future.
Have a question? If the info above doesn't help, you can ask the project creator directly.
