Welcome to Army of Sloths! A game that puts you in the center of a battle for survival. As I’m sure you already know, the main food source for sloths are cecropia leaves. In the world of Army of Sloths we find that many groups of sloths have formed to wage war with one another over the remainder of these precious leaves. With no one to guide them, it is up to you to step in and lead them to victory.
As the commander, you must develop your own strategy. Forge alliances… break bonds… do whatever you must in order to defeat the enemy. Take down your opponents through the use of powerful sloths and game changing actions.
There are two actions on each action card and that is because Army of Sloths provides you 2 ways to play (Leaf Defenders and Leaf Conquerors). The top action is used for Leaf Defenders, and the bottom action is used for Leaf Conquerors. Whether you’re looking for a longer game to enjoy with family and friends, or a short play session to kill some time, Army of Sloths can be the game for you (playtimes may vary).
The first way to play, Leaf Defenders, focuses on building up your defenses, while simultaneously working to weaken your opponents’ defenses. It is your goal to keep your leaves safe, and capture your opponents’ leaves. If you lose all of your leaves, then you’re out of the game.
Build up your walls, and knock down others’. Find the right balance between strengthening your walls and attacking your opponents. Choose whether to use your sloths and actions to take down the enemy, or to protect your precious leaves from the incoming assault. Whichever strategy you choose, always remember that the last player with leaves in front of them is the winner.
Building walls is not as easy as it sounds, as the Sloths must follow a certain pattern. Each Sloth must match the Sloth next to it by either number or suit, or the numbers for each Sloth must go in sequential order from left to right.
This game is designed for 2-4 players, but is best played with 3-4. A typical game can take anywhere between 20-45 minutes to complete, depending on the number of players. The number of players can be expanded to 5-8 if you combine 2 copies!
Second Way to Play
The second way to play, Leaf Conquerors, is easier to learn and quicker to play. In Leaf Conquerors players compete round by round in order to obtain the most leaves. Players are dealt a combination of sloth and action cards, with the leaf cards set off to the side in a pile of their own.
At the beginning of each round all players draw a card and then decide if they wish to play any action cards. A card from the top of the leaf pile is then flipped over for everyone to see. Players must now decide whether or not they would like to battle for the leaf by placing a sloth facedown in front of them. All sloths are flipped simultaneously and the player most powerful sloth wins the card.
The leaf cards have varying point values. Some are worth 1 point, some are worth 2, and one is worth 5. The 5-point leaf, also known as the Golden Leaf, will always be the final leaf to be drawn. The player with the most points at the end of the final round is the winner!
This game is also designed for 2-4, but has an average playtime of 15-20 minutes. Once, again the number of players can be expanded to 5-8 if you combine 2 copies!
For more detailed information about the rules and gameplay for both ways to play you can check out our Facebook page (Army of Sloths, https://www.facebook.com/ArmyOfSloths/), or our Twitter (@DoubLLeLLC, https://twitter.com/DoubLLeLLC)! A complete set of rules can be found in both places.
If all your strategies fail, you can always resort to taking out your enemies with The Nuke!
As you can see from our pledge tiers, we will be offering a Special Edition deck of Army of Sloths. This Special Edition deck will contain 10 new sloths that do not appear in the Standard Edition.
Below is an example of one of the new sloths, The Viking, which was voted into the Special Edition deck by the fans.

As mentioned above, any questions you may have please feel free to reach out on the page here, or via social media. We look forward to building a community with all of you as we continue our work!
Army of Sloths will feature a Stretch Goals system that will continue to develop as the project is funded.
Below, you will see a series of tasks that WE NEED YOU to accomplish. If they are accomplished then we will be giving away one of our reward tiers to one lucky backer. These giveaways will only occur if the project is successfully funded, and will increase in tier at higher levels!
Each level will consist of completing various tasks via social media. For each level, there will be 5 tasks. Completing any 3 of these tasks will unlock the giveaway!
For each one you help complete, you will receive one more chance to win. Completing all of them will give you the best chance to win! One username will be chosen for each set of completed tasks upon the successful funding of the project. The winners will be announced on Twitter so you must be following us, @DoubLLeLLC, to win. We will contact you through the social media platform that matches the winning username. You are responsible for getting back to us.
The first giveaway has been unlocked! Which is one free copy of the standard or special edition (winner's choice at the end of the campaign).
Now on to the second set of tasks! Get going because this time the prize will be a DoubLLe the Fun package (2 copies)!!
IN ADDITION to the giveaways, free digital artwork will be given to all backers at 25% funded, 50% funded, 75% funded and 100% funded. This will occur regardless of whether the campaign is successful and that is because we appreciate your pledge so much that we wanted to guarantee that you receive something!
Once each percentage mark is hit, the digital artwork will be revealed and an email will be sent to all backers at that time in order to send out the prize! So pledge early to receive all of the prizes!
Remember to check back on this page to see the new tasks and any updates to the Stretch Goals!
Developing an idea for a game is just a small part to this process. Having a plan to produce and distribute said game, and being able to successfully implement that plan, is the rest. Not to mention, it’s likely what a lot of you want to hear about because it shows that we are prepared for the next step after this campaign has reached its end.
Our fulfillment plan will consist of working with 3 groups to help us produce the games and ship them to you.
All artwork shown on this page is not final, as we may notice some changes that need to be made between now and the production of the game. The overall concept will remain the same and there will not be major differences between what you see here and the final product.
Our plan for production is currently to have PrintNinja and The Game Crafter manufacture the games. Due to the production of both a Standard and Special Edition, we are using 2 manufacturers. This allows us to be flexible with our orders. We will be ordering the Standard Edition copies from PrintNinja.
We will be ordering the Special Edition copies from The Game Crafter.
The estimated start to production will be in February 2018. The production should be completed by the end of March 2018.
Shipping will be handled through a combination of resources. Quartermaster Logistics will handle all of the orders outside of the United States, while we will be handling all of the orders within the United States. We have thoroughly researched our options and we believe we have put together the best plan to have your rewards manufactured and shipped to you in a timely manner.
We should receive our shipment approximately 6 weeks following completion of production. Orders will promptly be shipped out and should arrive in June of 2018. This may vary for out of country orders (July 2018).

Special Thanks To

Once again, thank you all for your support!
Risks and challenges
Production and shipping delays are possible, depending on when we submit our files for production.
This will likely add 4-6 weeks to the production process, and has already been factored into the estimated delivery date for all rewards. If we are able to get ahead of schedule and submit the files for production earlier than expected, then you will be updated and the rewards will arrive sooner than expected.
Changes in Costs:
Our estimated costs have the potential to fluctuate, leading to a higher overall cost. However, we are prepared for this, and have chosen a funding goal that is guaranteed to be enough to successfully create Army of Sloths and provide you with your rewards.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
