Now its mandatory to have something with a pulley in the middle on the game :)

    2. Creator Paul Chaplin (@CottlestonPie) on March 13, 2012

Tim said it was PDT not PST, and the post seems to have been adjusted to reflect that. :) Livestream will start two hours before the end of funding; be there if you can, everyone!

    3. Creator Marykate Clark on March 12, 2012

oops... I pasted that in the wrong box... btw... I LOVE THAT DOUBLE FINE BABY DOLL!!! XX

Listen to me.... we are in the last 24 hours. Stop, take a moment to re-read this: http://www.kickstarter.com/blog/24-hours ...the first 24 hours. Look at how far we've come.
Ask yourself if you can do a little more, if so, please do. But look at what we've accomplished.
In my opinion Double Fine and Tim Schafer have managed to attract the love and loyalty of some amazing people. It's a reflection back upon them, of course. But be proud of yourselves, for being those people. And for being brave enough to believe in this little dream.

(Yes, that's the comment I would like quoted for the film (BACKERS, THE MOVIE)... Thanks!)

    5. Creator Warren Overbeeke on February 29, 2012

Please make the Hardcover Adventure Book similar to the poster tier i.e. autographed by Tim Schafer, Ron Gilbert, and the rest of the design team. A little bit more 'reward' effort on your part but I think if you capped it at 1000 backers you could receive another half a million - making the project even more amazing!

    6. Creator maelic001 on February 27, 2012

Loved the video. Would be awesome if you could do a full panel discussion with some of the other old adventure game greats like Roberta Williams, Al Lowe, Brian Moriarty, etc.

    7. Creator Kevin O'Brien (The Hip Gamer) on February 24, 2012

Please, guys -- if the economics work, make this a Big Box, as it was in the halcyon days of the 90s. The mini box and the DVD case are pale substitutes for what was once a great aspect of this weird little hobby of ours.

    8. Creator Shahin on February 24, 2012

Upped to $110 for that delicious boxed edition :)

    9. Creator Rawks on February 24, 2012

is anyone else enjoying watching the $2000 per 10 mins jumps in cash for the project?

    10. Creator nickcv on February 24, 2012

did you guys already decided what kind of box are going to get with the 100$ pledge?

are we getting a cardboard box like in the old times?

    11. Creator Paulo Coelho on February 24, 2012

Back in time there was a company in Brazil called "Brasoft". They used to translate those KucasArts adventures to Brazillian Portuguese, such as Full Throttle, The Dig, Curse & Escape from MI and Grim Fandango (this one with voice acting). Can't you guys thinks a little bit more about adding PT-BR as a translated language?

    12. Creator Micah Joel Navarro on February 24, 2012

I'm pretty stoked to hear what is going into this title. I lived in kind of a rough neighborhood growing up so I stayed indoors a lot, I grew up on point and clicks, I feel the nostalgia coming on already!

    13. Creator Noah Massimo on February 24, 2012

Oh, what I would do for Grim Fandango 2

    14. Creator Dave Anthony on February 23, 2012

Is this going to be 2D ala Day of the Tentacle, or 3D like Grim Fandango. (Please say 2D!!!)

    15. Creator Dat Phan on February 23, 2012

      yay! :D

    16. Creator Kevin Cederholm on February 23, 2012

You sir, You created my childhood with Grim fandango!.. first ever point and click game i played was simon the sorcerer though.. Can't wait for this to get real!

    17. Creator Charles Pinker on February 23, 2012

      Fantastic stuff, can't wait.

    18. Creator Gabriel Guerrero on February 23, 2012

Well, I think people are already asking for too many platforms.

I would love to see this game in XBLA for example, but I think it's not realistic at this point. Righ now, with the funding they have, I think they should focus on the already confirmed platforms and ensure the game is really good (I have no doubt about this point :P).
After the game is published, if it sells well, they will have gathered enough money to port it to other platforms like Vita, PSN, XBLA, other mobile devices, etc.

Also, I would love to see Michael Land involved in this :)

    19. Creator Menthur Calis on February 22, 2012

Go for it ... Special "Hi" to your whole team from Germany ... Yeah I know :D

    20. Creator Christopher on February 22, 2012

Agree ! MI3 ist the best Part of the Series.
Dott was very Cool the Teleport of the Stuff ^_^.

      Lets Wait and See :)

    21. Creator Kyle on February 21, 2012

XBL + WP7 for teh win. ;) Seriously though, if they develop on those two platforms, there are all kinds of cool integration points to leverage. Anyway, I might be a new comer, but loved Trenched, aka Iron Brigade, and that's what got me to support them. Go guys, go.. ;)

    22. Creator Jalmari Raippalinna on February 21, 2012

DOTT and MI2 were the superior products for that age, and those come to my mind initially as the best SCUMM-games ever made. However, I think MI3 was the best adventure game ever made due to it's incredible depth, graphics and voice acting, even though I hated it first for being so different from MI1&2 graphically.

    23. Creator Jamieson Christian on February 20, 2012

Day of the Tentacle was, in my opinion, the pinnacle of LucasArts' point-and-click adventure game products. And of course, Monkey Island raised the bar on the genre to a height that no competing franchise ever managed to top. With Schafer at the helm and Gilbert on board, I have very high hopes that this project will be about getting back to the roots of what makes the genre so incredibly enjoyable.

    24. Creator Alex on February 20, 2012

Will the Beta Version already be available for Mac? Also: Hurray for iOS Version! Just because of this whole project I started to play Day of the Tentacle on my iPod via ScummVM. Such a great and funny game!

    25. Creator Jan Chlupacek on February 20, 2012

Maybe a Nintendo DS/3DS version? Bottom touch screen with a stylus seems to be nice for that.

    26. Creator garyBig on February 20, 2012

Yeah, since sufficiently powered mobile devices like the iPhone and the Androids are already set to be covered, a PS Vita version would be the icing on the cake for me. As I heard, it´s even far more cheaper for developers to publish a game on the Vita than to publish it on PS3´s PSN. (or SEN, as it is now called, whatever!)
Furthermore, the Vita should make for quite a gentle platform to work on (with all the hardware and stuff)
      - So that would make myself very happy! [But EFIGS localisation and voices are already superb !!!]

    27. Creator Andres Lestal on February 20, 2012

Steam is not available on GNU/Linux, so why not expand your markets. Desura has a wide userbase and is available on Windows, Mac and GNU/Linux.

    28. Creator Shahroz Rais on February 20, 2012

A PSN version with trophies would make me very happy, Tim. Any chance of that happening?

    29. Creator Nunya Biznash on February 20, 2012

This makes me so happy, thank you Tim!

    30. Creator Michael Dunn on February 20, 2012

Congrats on the 2 Mil, you got my pledge now too.

Oh, if you get enough money for localising the FIGS dialog I work for a company who specialise in that, which has two of the guys who worked on the localised dialog for psychonauts, so you may remember them.

I'm still badgering the MD to send you an email to harass you :)

    31. Creator Alexei Barnes on February 20, 2012

I can't wait to see what impact $2,000,000 will have on this game, is there any chance that this game could be open source? Wolfire have been driving open source commercial games recently and I love the idea, an open source game with a $2m budget would certainly be eye catching to developers.

    32. Creator Staffan Lindberg on February 20, 2012

      haha 2M, awesome

    33. Creator Henning Ohm on February 20, 2012

      BOOM HEADSHOT

    35. Creator Alexander Niewels on February 20, 2012

To make this game, you dont have to push a few old ladies down the stairs, anymore.
That’s the second biggest thing I’ve ever seen
      10k more to go =)

    36. Creator Riaan Prinsloo on February 20, 2012

Fantastic, I've loved all the goodness that have oozed from the pores of Double Fine thus far and can't wait to see what they/you come up with for this project... (hopefully a fine combination of Lucas Artsy, Monkey Islandey goodness mixed with a bit of King's/Space Quest (am I being a little unrealistic here?). Whatever it turns out to be, I'm sure it'll kick all kinds of ass.
Lastly, I'm extremely happy to be backing this!

    37. Creator Christian Gilhuus on February 19, 2012

$1.982.480!!! With that kind of money, you should be able to include Michael Land and Steve Purcell as well! :D

Tim, how about posting another update when you hit $2.000.000?

    38. Creator Christopher Flick on February 19, 2012

Would be awesome if they made this for Windows Phone as well.

    39. Creator Karl-Ove Nilsen on February 19, 2012

      Cheers

    49. Creator Mikhail Tsennykh on February 18, 2012

@John, oh yeah! I used to love point and click adventure games (we used to call them 'Quests'). I was sure that after 'The Longest Journey' good adventure games became extinct... Can't wait to try beta...)))
