About this project
I think it is important to tell our backers first what our goal is. When the campaign hits its pledge goal, we will put most of the money into the design and manufacturing of DonTie. The design and manufacturing stage takes about 4 days. And the reason being is that I want your opinion and decision on how the finish product becomes. A private instagram account will be made so we can share messages and videos easily. When the 4 days are over, we will make the finished product and ship them out to you.
A little story on how DonTie came to mind:
One day, not so long ago, I was out and about, spending some time walking around town, talking with the people I passed and enjoying the fresh air. I was all smiles, until incidentally looking down at my shoes, which brought a frown to my face. I didn’t like the way it looked. I had been using shoelaces, same as everyone else, for pretty much my entire life.
We accept shoelaces as a way of life, like aspirin for headaches and water for thirst. It’s not something you usually think about. Every day since then, I have thought about it. The more I reflect on shoelaces, the less I like them. Instead of just accepting the status quo, I have come up with a solution. That solution is DonTie.
DonTie will be a modern alternative to shoelaces, changing the face of the shoelace industry irrevocably. We are going to be a true 21st-century company, democratizing the innovation process. In this way, we will incorporate our customers fully into our business, making them a part of the team and developing a product for which they will have real love and appreciation.
Culturally, we have come to believe that shoelaces are just a part of our shoes, that they are more than just an option. They are, however, just that: an option. They are something that can be changed. Something that can be improved upon.
At DonTie, we are making it our mission to do so. We refuse to take shoelaces at face value. We want something better. We want something more. Right now, we are turning to you, Kickstarter, for help raising $15.000.
This startup capital will cover the costs of developing, manufacturing, marketing, and distributing the first run of DonTie products. If you want something more, something better, please join us.

We will be working together with EGGS design (eggsdesign.com), one of Norway's best design studios. We will be working closely together figuring out everything from start to finish. And all of you guys are invited to join in on this journey aswell.

We will be in touch every day while working on the project, so our backers can see step by step of what's going on, and how far the project has come. And I will personally ask questions, and read and answer every single response that comes through. I can feel it in my bones that this is going to be so much fun.
When the product finally finishes, we will all look down upon our shoes and be proud of something we all have a part in.

Risks and challenges
Although we dont have a physical prototype yet, we will develop the finish product together with the choices our backers make.
We have been developing this plan of engaging our backers fully into our project for over a year now and we finally have a product that’s ready to be developed.
One of our main goals will be to bring us much closer together so you guys will get a real feel on being part of a project to the core. Following and engaging in the development to a finish product.
One important task for this campaign will be to bring you guys into this as something more than a backer, as a friend.
One big challenge will be to convince you guys to join us on this journey, and hopefully once we hit our goal, our adventure together can finally begin.
