About this project
For thirteen years Paperhand Puppet Intervention has been creating original large-scale puppet pageant extravaganzas complete with giant puppets, masks, shadow puppets, stilt dancing, painted flats, live music and so much more. These shows tell stories of the human heart, illuminate myths from around the world, and inspire young and old alike through their unique brand of creative expression. Each summer Paperhand helps create a community that shares not only their picnic blankets, but also their ideas and experiences.
As we prepare for our 14th summer show we are asking for your help to raise funds for some of the expenses for this year’s production. Your donation will help us cover the cost of renting the performance space, paying a stipend to our hard working interns, and the basic materials needed to build the puppets for the show. In exchange for your donation we have a bundle of fun rewards including limited edition postcards and posters, free tickets to the summer show, handmade totes, hand decorated masquerade masks, DVDs, T-shirts, an invitation to a special backstage dinner party, one of a kind shadow puppets, beautifully hand painted cardboard flats, special appearances from Paperhand Characters and even your very own Paperhand mask!
We appreciate your donations small or large and thank you greatly for your support! Please also support our campaign by passing this site along to your friends!

Risks and challenges
Each summer we are faced with a tight timeline to build the puppets for our shows, script and rehearse our performance. To reach all of our goals we maximize our time by inviting the community to help in our process with open workdays each Saturday where everyone is encouraged to help build, sculpt, paint, paper mache and sew the puppets into being.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
