Last Call for Shipping Info, Production Update, Batman
All Updated Addresses, Surveys, and PayPal Shipping invoices must be completed no later than this coming Wednesday, August 17th.
The reason for this deadline? I am heading to Rochester on the 21st so I can begin assembly and shipping of your Stylus Cap pre-orders!
To make this process as smooth as possible, I need to have all of your info complete by Wednesday so I can start manipulating the data into something thats usable to print close to 1,800(!) address labels. So please, make sure all your info is ready for me.
Just to give you a feel for the way the week of the 21st will go: Assembly will likely take up the first part of the week, with Shipping happening in the 2nd part of the week. I have a pretty good feeling for the way it will go, but its also a bit of an unknown, so check back here on the Kickstarter page and on the MORE/REAL Twitter account for updates.
I generally post longer, in depth stuff to Kickstarter, but Twitter is great for the really quick and easy "Hey this thing just happened!" posts. If you don't do Twitter, that's totally cool. Everything I post on Twitter usually finds its way on to Kickstarter a couple of days later.
Buying Stylus Caps after Kickstarter
As we approach the ship date for Kickstarter Backers, that means we are also getting close to taking orders for everyone who missed the Kickstarter backing period. The Fineliner caps are being produced as I type this, and the Bic caps up on deck. Of the three styles, the Bic caps should be the easiest to produce, so everything is looking on track to have all Caps completed by Monday the 22nd. Here is a pic I shot of the Fineliner caps in front of the Sears (I'll be dead in the ground before I call it the Willis) Tower in Chicago.
Production will take place on the 22nd and I will be there to film the process. I can't wait to show you how this package design turned out. Lots of secrets to reveal. Secrets!
The Tips are coming out great. I have been using a couple production tips over the past week and I am very pleased at how responsive they are. Production should be wrapped on the Tips in the middle of next week. In the meantime, check out this quick 5 minute illustration my friend and fellow Batman obsessor Matt Collander produced with a Sharpie Stylus Cap, an original iPad, and Adobe Ideas.
Here is what Matt had to say about using a Stylus Cap:
- "Drawing with it was really natural for me & it was awesome that it was a stylus nib on the end of a Sharpie marker...felt very natural to use. The only hiccup was using the Adobe Ideas program, which was just new to me. Odd that they "correct" your lines in to vectors, but whatevs. This was a very quick, kinda angular Batman that was very fun to draw in a new way."
Matt is more of a traditional media kind of guy so this was his first iPad sketch. It came out pretty good if you ask me! Matt draws a Batman everyday and calls it Batman of the Day. You should check it out, especially if you like seeing Batman in zany situations like: Dunking a basketball. Rollerskating. Eating a hamburger. Etc.
That's all I got for right now. Remember, get your Updated Addresses, Surveys, and PayPal Shipping invoices in to me ASAP!
Talk to you soon,
ps. Happy Birthday Mom!
