The law ends at the creaky saloon door!
It's every Grifter for themselves! Either walk away with the most gems or be the last one standing when the smoke clears. How you choose to do this is entirely up to you...GAMBLE, CHEAT, DUEL, DISTRACT, or even occasionally TELL THE TRUTH!!
TREACHEROUS is an adaptable hidden identity game that allows players the freedom to play in any style they choose. The rule set is intuitive, but the wide variety of card and Vengeance abilities will entice even the most honest player to delve into the vile and gritty world of TREACHEROUS!
Each player needs a Player Screen, 1 Grifter, 3 Lady Luck cards, 1 Large Gem, and 5 Small Gems.
Set the number of rounds to the number of players +2 in descending order.
Set up the Raise cards, Grifter and Lady Luck decks, Gems, Dice, and shell casings in the center of the table. Leave a space along the bottom edge of the Raise cards for a pot.
Determine first player, hand them the shot glass and remove the top round card. First player each round antes to the pot. The first player then has 2 actions to take. These can be taken as 1 standard and 1 card action or 2 standard actions.
OR..take 2 Standard Actions if you're willing to gamble a little bit. You must roll the 2-pip die. A pip indicates that you will need to pay 1 gem to the pot before you take the action.
These are actions from the cards in your hand or the player screen.
Feel free to lie about your card action! Heck even table talk! Who's going to stop you! Just don't get caught!
Card Actions can be challenged!
When a challenge is issued, the challenged player must reveal either the cards they're claiming or cards of the same type is they are lying. The winner receives 5 gems from the bank and the loser is dismissed from the saloon!
It's time to duel!
Dueling is handled with the Dueling Dice. Players are counted down then rapidly roll their die until someone rolls a pip and yells "HIT!"
After a player has completed their actions and resolved any challenges and/or duels, play proceeds to the next player in clockwise order.
If at least 2 active players are still in the game when the "0" round ends, players enter the REVEAL PHASE.
During the reveal phase, players will reveal their Grifter and play a game of 3 card poker with the ability to wager to raise the value of a suit.
If the 2 best hands tie, they split the pot. Then, all players (even the eliminated ones) count up their gems. The player with the most gems, wins the game. Any ties when it comes to gems are handled with a ...not so friendly...DUEL!
This is the second game from DNA Games. While the first (Nightfall at Camp Havenwood) did not fund, we have stuck to our promise. We promised that the previous game was just the first in an expansive line of creative and fun tabletop games.
We've listened!! While our previous venture did well on BGG and has a nice following, it was seen by some as an expensive risk for an unproven company due to the prohibitive shipping. We listened to everyone!!! TREACHEROUS is aggressively priced while delivering a solid tabletop experience. Again, this is the beginning. We have fully committed to this entire process twice and we're staring down two more releases currently in development. Risks and challenges
We have minimized ours risks by having not only completely tested, but having all of the base art complete. The manufacturer we have gone with is well versed in game manufacturing as they consistently take care of much larger companies that you see on your FLGS shelves everyday! This is DNA Games second project to hit Kickstarter and while Nightfall at Camp Havenwood didn't fund, we are conditioned for this process. All of that said there are 3 potential hang ups. 1. Manufacturing delays-There are more games being printed than ever. 2. Port delays- There have been plenty of port worker strikes recently. I dont live close enough to a coast to unload it myself! 3. Finally, due to legal restrictions, the deluxe editions have to be hand packed and shipped by us directly. Believe me, the homework is done. We are READY!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
