Have a question?
David, did I understand correctly that you'll be sending out the surveys (at least for those of us who only got books) closer to when the books are actually ready to go out? (Not a complaint, as it hopefully helps cut down on the "whoops, I moved since then" issues that some will inevitably run into, just asking.)
@Wyvernsrose Yikes! Hopefully yes, they'll sort it out. Let them know, and let me know if you need a hand.
Kickstarter has charged me twice for this one hopefully it sorts itself out by the time it all clears.
Wow, I can still scarcely believe the last 48 hours of this campaign! Now the hard behind-the-scenes work begins to get your rewards to you.
@Vidar Ambrosiani: Cliffhangers is number 1 on my list for a follow-up book too, so you may be in luck! :-)
Congrats! I'm really glad the usual end-of-KS rush did happen! :)
It's official now, congratulations!
Sorry I was so late to back. You've given me more than a few laughs over the years, though, and I wanted to make sure to give something back.
Thank you for the laughs and the fun. And congrats on making the goal!
Last minute backer. Groaned a bit about international postage, but then I thought, hey, with all the joy you've given me, paying back is only fair. However, what I really want Is a book of the cliffhangers series. In my mind that's easily the best theme. Please do it next!
Wow! A few days ago I feared that the target wouldn't be met.
made it, with 21 hours still to go!
I can't stop myself from coming back here to check if we are still over 22.000 AUD :-)
Wow, those last 24 hours really gave it a boost! Congrats on getting the target!
And unless something changes drastically in the final 22 hours you're funded, congratulations! :-)
Irregular Webcomic was the first ever comic I found and the first I binged on. I remember sitting in my uni hostel's computer room until late at night, making my way through the hundreds of strips. My love of webcomics stems mainly from this one and I'd love to have it next to those on my shelf.
Wow, what a eucatastrophe!
I was already starting to feel sad the other day about the project failing... and then somehow it's gone and turned around at the last minute. : )
Unbelievable! Just 69 AUD missing :-)
If people continue to back within the next 40 hours like they did in the last 24 we may still reach the target :-) Please advertise where ever you can.
I still hadn't backed this project despite it being in my agenda for days now. Suddenly saw that deadline and that the target hasn't been reached yet - so I quickly backed for two books, one for a DMing colleague. Hope you reach your target, you deserve it!
Used to two copies, I have a friend who is a big fan of Darth and droids who doesn't have time to read IW, I hope to introduce him to it.
Thanks, thanks, and thanks for the comments and pledges. I've started holding my breath as these last few days tick down. I really don't need this for my nerves! I've begun thinking about contingency plans, but I'd rather not have to invoke those, and am still hopeful we can get this funded.
I just increased my pledge - hopefully you find another way to get these books done if this isn't successful
I added an extra book (Great Christmas present to get that gaming friend hooked guys) to help reach that goal!!!!
Hi David! Good luck on the project! I don't know if there's enough time left, or if you even have enough time to do it, but one thing that I thought worked really well on the OOTS kickstarter and that could also work here, is that you could offer a bonus PDF story for every backer, regardless of pledge, but don't make it available anywhere else. It could be a good incentive!
I see Steve posted something about the project :-)
Great idea with the meet-ups - as a long-time reader and current London resident, I'm delighted to have the excuse to upgrade my pledge :)
@ Oliver Korpilla: Wow, you must have read my mind. I was in the middle of composing an email to him right now!
Can you get some publicity through Steve Jackson? He seemed to have an interest in the comic in the past...
LG is the only other lego based webcomic I read. Maybe there are other artists that might be willing to mention this, too.
@ IRDC: Thanks for that. I should have thought of contacting Dusan myself - I'm glad you did!
After a poke Legostar Galactica mentions the return of Irregular Webcomic in today's strip's comments. I hope this helps a bit.
@ Jamie Bergman: Thank you!
@ IRDC: Thanks for helping spread the word. I am contacting as many friends as possible to help, and have started running an ad campaign on Project Wonderful to let more people know about the Kickstarter. It's a bit of a haul to the goal, but I haven't given up!
You have given me many years of happiness with your web comics. :)
Is anybody part of some kind of webcomic enthusiast Facebook group or something like that? I tried promoting this project on Facebook, Twitter, 9gag and two other webcomics and I'm running out of ideas :-(
Is anybody friends with someone famous?
@ Oliver Korpilla: Haha, thanks! I'm glad I got you addicted to another comic. :-)
I only followed Darth & Droids until you made your announcement regarding the KS. I pledged because I am hobbit-fawning over this. Good job! :)
Even if it becomes repetitive but maybe you could ask people once a week to spread the word (which would only be two more times anyway).
@ Matthew Ryan: I'd kind of been assuming that would be part of the process, but I'll double check with them. They're pros - I'm sure they have this sort of stuff figured out!
There was a surge in backers yesterday. Seems like our combined "spreading the word" made a difference :-)
David, does/will Make That Thing send you any proofs (or similar), so you can make sure that the comic colors look ok when printed? (I know that's a thing I've seen other webcomics-into-books have to look into.)
@ IRDC: Hi, thanks for asking! Yeah, we started well, but momentum is slowing. The thing to do is publicise and spread the word as far and wide as possible. I'm going to try a few more things myself, but you and other backers can help by mentioning the book to family, friends, and on blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc.
Is there anything we can do to make this more popular? I would like to see the other themes become books, too...
Damn... Spellslingers all gone already :-(
In for a Melba!
