Analog.Cafe is more than just a blog. It is the collaborative publication platform for the FILM PHOTOGRAPHY community.
- Anyone can submit images, photo essays and articles through the beautiful, easy to use web app. No more complicated, ugly forms.
- Featured images are listed in a special database. From there they can be re-published by others. This gives more exposure to the original photographer and facilitates effortless collaboration.
- Every submission goes through a careful editorial process. Together, we build a remarkable and lasting experience for thousands of visitors from around the world.
Analog.Cafe got fully funded in just over two weeks. Shortly after it reached the stretch-goal at 130%. Everyones' zine rewards got upgraded to 28 pages from the previously-planned 20 pages.
Thank you everyone who has pledged the support for this project.

Analog.Cafe: How and Why?
Watch the video below where I explain my plans to code & design Analog.Cafe from scratch. No themes or blog generators. This clip may help you understand a little better why I am raising the funds in the first place ☟
A Little About Me.
I've been designing and building websites since 1999. I've been in love with art for even longer.
Exhibiting creative works online has its advantages and limitations. A few of us manage to reach millions cheaply and efficiently. But most of the time, our work gets lost in a sea of content, fighting for viewer attention.
Over the past few years I became obsessed with the tactile art of analog photography and the friendly, welcoming community behind it. The same community that persuaded manufacturing giants like Fuji and Kodak to make film again.
With Analog.Cafe I aim to create the best place for the images and the stories that inspired them. My goal is to build a website that advocates the craft and the people behind it – beyond what Twitter or Instagram hashtags can do. To create an environment where deserving art gets the best possible presentation and lasting attention.
For this project, I am asking for a relatively small sum of money. It will help me pay for the back-end developers' time and the printing costs for your rewards. Work on the website has already begun, but I do need help with tricky stuff like setting up databases.
I've done most of the work for design, typesetting and layout on the web which will be translated beautifully into print over the next few days.
The website launch is scheduled for August 1, 2017. There are now over a hundred curated submissions which are waiting to be published on day one.
About the "Limited Edition Printed Zine" & perks.
What could be a better reward than a well-designed, community-sourced, Kickstarter-exclusive, limited edition printed zine? That same zine with hand-crafted perks of course!
Below are a few samples of what it would look like in your hands:
WHAT'S (AND WHO'S) IN THE ZINE?!
Below are some of the selected photographs and their respective authors for the zine. There will also be stories and articles. In total it'll be twenty pages of pure bliss!
Please support Analog.Cafe by clicking "Back This Project" button and selecting your reward.
Thank you – and please let me know if you have any questions ❤️
Risks and challenges
In addition to building Analog.Cafe, I am also the Chief Technology Officer at Eureka King/Archie.ai. It is a job that demands my time and attention.
The good news is that I have plenty of experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and successfully. Last year, I've built two websites, hundreds of design concepts and tools for two startups. That same year, I've also travelled to five countries and gotten married!
