Blown Away!

Good afternoon everyone.  I must say I am blown away by the upsurge in support.  In 6 days we have raised over $1335 in pledges.  This is huge and ever so generous.  I have been contacted by a local church group leader for who I had a speaking engagement Nov 17th and have been told they intend to make a contribution as well.  Currently we stand at just below 50% complete with 10 days left.  If you had asked me last week if I thought this was going to be a success, I would have said no.  All that has changed, I really feel it’s going to happen and I can’t thank you all enough.  I have noticed some of you have pledged but haven’t selected a reward.  Please, please sign back in and select one.  It’s the least I can do for you being so kind.

Now here are some interesting new developments:

·         Made contact with 7 great contacts in NI as well as a 8th today following a very encouraging phone call.

·         Learned the Belfast area as if it were my own home and have scoured through countless parade commission schedules to make my Belfast stay fruitful.

·         Set my Kayak account to alert me with fairs from every conceivable way to either Belfast or Dublin airports.

·         Conducted 3 phone interviews and am extremely pleased with their outcome.

Thank you all for your support.

Counting Down the Days

First a foremost, to all of you that have been so kind, thank you.  I am privileged to have such generous and caring friends and family.  Over the past 45 days I have learned a few things.  First, people don’t like history.  Secondly, people don’t like talking about religion.  Thirdly, a topic like mine is extremely hard to sell because it included both.  2,500 emails, 2 speaking engagements, and 22 churches and community groups visited have proven unsuccessful.   I have learned that my least favorite thing is the obvious lack of interest in a topic I am so passionate about.  However the journey has been rough, I am no less enthusiastic about completing this project.   Two things that are very much still alive.  The hope that in the next 13 days I may reach my funding goal and if I am unsuccessful with there is nothing I can’t accomplish with hard work and sacrifice.  If not this year then next, but regardless it will happen.  Once more, thank you for your support.  Please continue to share this project with everyone you can.  A lot could happen in 13 days.
