We're so close... What if we go over?!
Thank you so much for spreading the word about our Kickstarter campaign to rally additional support. We're overwhelmed by the excitement of all our new fans from this campaign and the sheer dedication of our loyal supporters from way back -- remember how I long I said it's taken to make this?! You have us so close to our goal. We can't believe it -- and we still have 3 days to go!
As we near our goal, we've been asked about what happens if we go over? What would we do with additional funds?
Well, we set our goal at the minimum amount we need to complete the edited TV version and help to defray all the many expenses related to getting the film out there. If we go over our goal we will funnel all your support back into the project to cover direct costs of expanding our website with new content. Right now we're in the process of developing a series of "webisodes," an extensive web component that uses the hundreds of hours of footage that was left on the cutting room floor. This footage contains thought-provoking, fascinating and entertaining material that reaches beyond the intimate, personal story told in seeking asian female to encompass more global issues: online dating, interracial love, the role of race in romance and relationships, and the social / political / cultural / historical reasons why so many Western men get obsessed with Asian women. It might get heated, but we think there's an important discussion - the contextual background lurking behind the compelling relationship drama in seeking asian female - that has not been debated in public. We're inviting guest bloggers, historians, journalists, cultural critics and everyone else to join in this international conversation.
We're really excited about it. We have so much more to share with you! But first we want you to see seeking asian female... and we're less than $900 dollars away from that. Maybe you can tip us over today. Thank you again for pledging to get our broadcast version finished for PBS and to get the film out to as many audiences as possible.
Thank you so much!
