About this project
We want to hit $3,000 in the last 4 days of this campaign. We think this will help offset the costs of this campaign and help us continue to publish new writers who are doing something different, and help us launch even more new projects. We're adding some new perks as well. Take a look on the sidebar, they're lovely.
End new goal transmission.
InDigest is an online literary magazine founded in 2007. At that time, the InDigest Offices were small, about the size of a desk in Dustin's apartment. We published periodic issues, the goal of which was to highlight great writing and art. We published poetry, fiction, creative non-fiction, art, and essays.
Today, the InDigest Offices are still small, but those issues have expanded to include criticism, interviews, and special features like The Lyric Sheet, in which lyrics to unreleased songs are presented as standalone pieces of writing. The definition of narrative forms has also evolved, and now includes audio and video storytelling, scripts, letters, and more.
The rest of InDigest has grown as well, and now includes podcasts, a reading series, digital broadsides, postcard broadsides, e-books, books, and more. As InDigest gained popularity and grew, the website remained the same. And now, to accommodate the wide variety of content we provide—both visually for the reader and logistically for the editorial team—InDigest needs a redesign and an upgrade.
With the exception of our beautiful books, all of the great content that InDigest provides is free. And we like that. But that makes it hard for us to develop a website that can deliver all this wonderful work to our readers. The new and improved InDigest needs a new and improved site that is easier to access and that allows for more interaction between community members. That's what this Kickstarter project is all about: we want to grow our community, find new ways to interact with readers, and more efficiently deliver exciting writing to your digital device.
We hope you enjoy all the great content at InDigest, and we appreciate your contribution to the project. As perks for helping us meet our goal, we're offering some great limited edition literary ephemera. We hope you enjoy these gifts, and that you'll enjoy the new InDigest site. Thanks for your support.
