The Slo Light Film is inspired by real life cases of the objectification and subjugation of women in the digital age, femmes fatales and female revenge thrillers.
A collaboration between legendary composer Neil Davidge of Massive Attack, New York based producer Cynthia Angel and director Dominic Lahiff The Slo Light Film will use every track from Neil's debut solo album to tell a story of pain, vengeance and the unspoken bond that exists between women, sisters, mothers and their children.
In the wake of his mother's death JOSEPH an affluent college graduate leads an aimless debauched existence. When Joseph meets the beautiful and mysterious NAOUMIE she seems to him nothing more than his latest sexual conquest, but over time she moves further into his closely guarded inner life.
In an abandoned country house SHANNON reminisces over the childhood memories of her younger, more vulnerable sister RAYE. When Shannon receives a phone call from Naoumie, it is revealed that Joseph has played a devastating role in Raye’s life, and the two women plan to enact a terrible, final vengeance.

The Slo Light Film eschews classical cinematic narrative structure by shifting mid way from the male perspective to the female perspective and it is for this reason that we have chosen Kickstarter to connect with our audience.
Acting as both a powerful cautionary tale and a new way to experience Neil's beautiful music only with your help can we tell this story and give a voice to the voiceless through provocative cinematic imagery.
Risks and challenges
Our greatest challenge is to raise the necessary funds to bring this project to life. To do justice to this story, we want to tell it using the most resonant innovative means possible. Producing a film is difficult; making a film that is both artistically-unique and ideas driven is even more challenging. However, we have spent the last two years working on this project, its themes are incredibly important to us, with our vast experience and passion for the film, we are determined to see it through to the end.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
