The Road To Tequila is a historical documentary that looks at an emblematic drink, steeped in tradition.
This is the story of tequila, but more importantly, the story of a people. It’s the story of how tequila evolved from its early forms of pulque and mezcal, to become one of the largest selling alcoholic beverages in the world; an emblematic drink, steeped in tradition and deeply imbedded in the culture and spirit of the Mexican people.
Our journey as filmmakers has brought us together with some of the foremost experts on this subject: tequila distillers, agave farmers, families (whose roots in the industry date back generations), academicians, government officials and historians; who, like ourselves, have a deep passion for telling the story of the agave agro industry.
Basic filming has been completed and the first chapter of this important film has been edited. We are seeking funds to finish the editing, purchase sound track materials and complete the final cut. We appreciate any support and hope you can help us tell this story.
