It will take up to 15 days for funds to clear Kickstarter, and no more than 3 weeks to manufacture this first limited-edition run. We aim to be delivering the first pledges no later than early April (no foolin')... The second batch of Wallys should ship in May. PLEASE NOTE: International shipping is available and can take up to 7 weeks via USPS First Class.Last updated:
Once the leather is diecut and stitched, it's formed into a subtle pocket. From our tests (view a shake-test here: http://t.co/lCYYqprd) we can recommend carrying no more than 3 credit cards or a similar sized load:
ID + debit card + business card 2 plastic cards + a folded bill
4 business cards
Subway card + folded bills
You get the idea :) While the leather can be stretched to accomodate a bit more, you’ll then find carrying a smaller load will be a loose fit. Just carry what you need; of course, you can still carry your Costanza wallet and let Wally hold whatever you require immediate at-hand access to.Last updated:
While we intentionally ditched the case to make Wally the slimmest solution imaginable, he can also grab tightly to cases that have a slick or gloss-finish surface – however, you'll need to request Alternahesive™ in the Backer Survey to also use Wally with matte/rubberized/soft-touch cases.
So far, these top cases from the Apple Store pass the Wally micro-suction test: Incase Snap Case, Speck CandyShell, Adopted Lens Case, Tech21 Impact Mesh, Uncommon.
Sadly, Wally will never ever work with squishy silicone cases.Last updated:
Yes! During the pledge process, Kickstarter will ask if you're in the US. If you're not, click to add $10 for the cost of international shipping. If you're in Canada, manually add just $5 to your pledge total.
PLEASE NOTE: International shipping via USPS First Class can take up to 7 weeks.Last updated:
Yes -- but not until you want him to :) Micro-suction is like thousands of tiny octopus suckers that grab on tight to slick surfaces, and can be easily removed (and reapplied and removed, over and over) without leaving behind any stickiness. If he starts to lose his grip, simply take Wally off and use pieces of clear Scotch tape to “clean” the micro-suction by covering the surface with tape and then removing it. That’s it.Last updated:
Hm, that's not really a question, but we have an answer: Just use Apple's https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/find-my-iphone/id376101648?mt=8 to find 'em both. Then punch the thief in the throat. Then run.
Nervous because you lose stuff all the time? Same answer -- Wally's great for losers! He's also great for globetrotters, for when you need to keep your ID and passport in separate places.Last updated:
The three of us did the entire thing on our iPhones: Adam did the editing in Premiere. Lindsay did the voiceover. Nate did the voice of the gorilla. Our goal was just to show Wally in action and let him speak for himself, nothing fancy or too time-consuming or costly to make... We're constantly inspired by Casey Neistat's work http://caseyneistat.comLast updated:
By "limited edition" we don't mean to imply that Wally won't ever be made again. The aim of Wally's Kickstarter isn't to sell and sell and sell as many as people order. What if we didn't limit the number, sold tens of thousands -- but weren't prepared to actually produce that many? Project timelines could be pushed back, quality could suffer, backers could be let down. That's what we're trying to avoid. Instead, our initial quantities are limited because that's what we're confident we can deliver.
We want to make more Wallys in the future, especially since he's been so well received – Kickstarter is how you can be among the first to have a Wally.Last updated:
The remaining Wally inventory will be made available for PREORDER exclusively on our webstore: http://www.distilunion.com/wally
Wally will likely evolve over time as we continue to incorporate real-life testing and feedback into his design. Keep an eye on Wally over at http://www.distilunion.com!Last updated:
