To pre-order a different combination than what's available in the Reward Levels, select the Reward Level that's close to what you want, then manually enter the TOTAL $ amount for the items you'd like to pre-order.
For example, 3 pairs =
Select TWO PACK ($89)
+ $49 for an additional pair
All MagLock Sunglasses include an Origami Case. It's +$14 to add another Case, so for example:
Select FOLLY: SEAFARER ($49)
+ $14 for an additional Case
Additional shipping may be due after the campaign, but we’ll work to keep it as low as possible.
And good news: we’re partnering with BackerKit, so you’ll have a chance to add additional pairs at the Launch Deal rate even after the campaign closes.Last updated:

Yes, the magnets we use are safe with this exception: MagLock Sunglasses are not recommended if you have a pacemaker, ICD (implanted cardiac defibrillator), or a condition that precludes using magnets near your head or body. Follow your doctor's advice if you have health concerns, and use similar caution as you would with other magnetic products.
There are some claims that magnets help with certain ailments, but we’re not making any medical claims. We take health and safety very seriously, and we continue to follow recommendations provided by the FDA and World Health Organization related to magnetic field exposure. You can rest assured that we will not ship a product unless it is safe.
Are you allergic to nickel? MagLock Sunglasses are absolutely fine to use! We've designed the frames to fully enclose the magnets, so they're protected from the elements, and you're protected from allergies.Last updated:
In general, no. While neodymium magnets are powerful, these WILL NOT affect most electronics. There are exceptions (old monitors or TV screens) – but it takes a very large magnet to affect an older hard drive (Breaking Bad, anyone?) and the magnets we use simply aren’t that powerful.
Cellphones are unaffected, neither are vehicle keys, USB sticks, memory cards, CDs, DVDs, digital cameras. Check out this video for a cool demo of things not affected https://youtu.be/lQdd2m8c368
Some hearing aids may react or become damaged if magnets are deliberately placed on them, so we would not recommend using MagLock if you have hearing aids, nor if you have a pacemaker or other implant that is sensitive to magnets.Last updated:
No, these magnets will not harm your phone or affect your phone calls. In fact, magnetic smartphone mounts are quite popular– here they address the concern well: http://blog.imagnetmount.com/why-magnets-wont-damage-your-smartphone-electronics-and-data/Last updated:
In a short answer: No. This helps us focus on delivering you the best product, at the best price, with a confident timeline. We considered offering the Origami Case as a stretch goal, but we truly believe in reducing packaging waste and want everyone to have this cool case! So to simplify things for us and for you: No stretch goals. But there may be fun new pledge levels along the way to keep things fun for us and you ;)Last updated:
Yes. We ship from Charleston, SC USA via USPS First Class, which in our experience is a reliable carrier to most but unfortunately not all countries. If you have issues with USPS, please know that undelivered packages cannot be refunded. Please notice that all international orders are subject to import duties and taxes. You can always back the campaign at the $1 level to show your support for the cause, and wait until the product is available later this year and opt for an insured shipping method.Last updated:

Yes, we have filed a patent for MagLock Sunglasses, as well as a TM on "MagLock" for use with sunglasses. While we are aware of existing products and previous patents related to magnets in frames (e.g. Clic readers), we have been advised that there appears to be no case of infringement. We'll leave the ultimate decision in the hands of the US Patent and Trademark Office.Last updated:
Yes yes yes and yes! And all in a lightweight lens that won’t weigh you down. Because eye health is tremendously important, we’ve gone the extra mile: MagLock Sunglasses have a polarized core and block 100% of UVA and UVB rays to protect your eyes, cut glare and reduce eye strain. The only thing we skipped for now is blue-light or HEV blocking, since the jury is still out on the coating’s effectiveness.Last updated:
No, the two current styles will not work with your prescription lens (which tend to be thicker and heavier than our sunglasses lens).
We'd love to offer a style that does though, so please help us get the word out if you'd like to see MagLock for your specs someday!Last updated:
Will these post to my Snapchat? Or track my daily steps? Or transmit music through my bones? Or make my life look like an instagram filter?
Thankfully, no! These are simply sunglasses that are thoughtfully designed and expertly crafted to protect your eyes, with MagLock so they're far less likely to be dropped or misplaced.Last updated:
