Stretch Goals!

Thanks to your amazing effort to help Soul Saga be known to the world, we are cruising to our minimum goal of $60,000.  So it's time to take a look at our stretch goals!

Not the actual in-game GUI ;)

Voice Acting
Voice acting can really help tell a story and give new personality to characters. If this stretch goal is met, then The story of Soul Saga can be portrayed by professional voice actors!

Airship
Your very own airship to sail the skies of Medonia! This opens up an airship exploration system similar to Skies of Arcadia. No adventure is complete without an airship!

Airship Combat!
Hunt and conquer the giant beasts of the sky, and sink pillaging sky pirate ships! This opens up a whole new combat system and epic enemies!

WiiU
Soul Saga goes to WiiU! Imagine it... Playing Soul Saga on your big screen TV and taking advantage of the intuitive new Game Pad screen. Soul Saga would be perfect here!

Job Board
The Job Board opens up a TON of side quests for Mithos to take his guild on. People from around the world petition Guilds to help them. You'll find quests from slaying monsters to capturing murderous villains to even evacuating citizens from a falling island!

Legendary Weapons
Weapons so epic they have their own storylines just to find them! You'll be sent through forests, dungeons, and ruins across Medonia to earn your unique treasures.

Guild Master
Mithos gets a bigger team! This opens up more playable characters Mithos can recruit to his Guild. Find hidden guild members scattered across the world, and bring them together to realize your dream of becoming the world's strongest Guild Master!

Guild Hall
Recruit Guild members, assign them teams, and give them jobs! This is where you really get to shine as a Guild Master. Managing your Guild is an important aspect to success. Send your teams on remote missions to find treasure, discover lost landmarks, find hidden dungeons, run your Guild businesses, craft items, and more!

Forgotten Beasts
Beasts so frightening and powerful that time itself can not kill them. These ancient monstrosities lie in wait for you to prove your strength. But can you defeat them?

Guild Battles
A whole new strategic combat mode that allows for massive scale battles by splitting your members into teams! Fight wars against hordes of enemies and claim your victory!

Atelier of Souls
The Atelier of Souls is a mysterious Tower with ever-changing, living corridors. The Atelier appears and vanishes as it pleases, it's origins unknown to modern man. The Atelier is a maze filled with traps and monsters that have never been conquered. Could there even be a better way for Mithos to prove his Guild's strength? Not only will you need to delve into the Atelier of Souls yourself, but you'll have to split your team up to help explore the whole Atelier! What treasures await you in this mysterious and deadly place?

Garen's Saga
Garen's story told through his own eyes! Play as Garen in the untold scenes as he manipulates the World Council, murders his enemies, and hunts for the power he desperately hungers for.

Pandora Boxes
The Pandora Boxes hold secrets so dark and powerful that not even the gods could destroy them. Scattered across the world, each box has it's own riddle to solve for it's impenetrable lock to be opened. Are the Pandora boxes meant to keep greedy adventurers out, or to lock something sinister inside?

Twice the Game!
Soul Saga: Episode 1 becomes "Soul Saga"! This will double the story and content of the game, making your first steps into the world of Oterra even more epic.

@Vince - Ya lets do it! =D If you can post on some forums for gaming or anime sites that'd be awesome!

@Mihir - Those are very interesting mechanics! I do have unique abilities planned for the characters. I was also planning on implementing some "field" abilities that would be used for solving puzzles, kind of like how Tales of Symphonia has the rings that shoot energy for solving puzzles, but in a different way.

Have you played the Golden Sun series? They're some pretty brilliant games and I think you'll both enjoy them and be able to find some inspiration n new ideas from them :)

Since you made this post on the Stretch goals, I wanted to know how you're general gameplay flow is. This is why I mentioned Golden Sun. In it, you obtain abilities which are are unique to each of the characters in the party.

Also, you many times use the same abilities OUTSIDE battle to solve puzzles, acquire special items, get through dungeons as you normally use them IN a battle. Since the game presents these puzzles as parts of its gameplay in a natural way, it brings a sort of flow and good variety instead of simply battling through an entire dungeon. This way, it actually becomes a dungeon/temple/desert/forest etc. instead of just being connected paths filled with monsters.

Would you be creating your areas n gameplay around this? I see the potential in it, especially because of the way your combat and alchemy system works. There are definitely ways to use them outside battle to really bring the world to life and give a lot more variety in gameplay. Even Guild missions could be factored into this :D

Finally, at which of the stretch goals would we get the full size characters as you mentioned? :P

How to get the word out about this more... hmmm.... Must find a way to get the word out!

    4. Disastercake Creator on June 22, 2013

@barnaud - I plan to utilize fan based translations to cut down on development costs. I will reach out to fans near the end of development to help me translate the game.

@Martin + Christine - I have a few small minigames in mind! If we get enough funding I will squeeze them in, but I feel that more important features should be highlighted in the stretch goals.

@Matt - Thanks! And this could possibly add a couple months to development at the very most if almost all of the stretch goals are met.

      @Mihir - 250k would be awesome!~

@Lloyd - If the person who pledges wants their character to be a recruitable character, then yes. =D

@Edgard - Thank you so much! I'm really excited too! Hopefully we can get these unlocked. =D

@ Blackstaff - I agree, it's better to open it up to fan translation so that the game can have every last penny for making sure development is awesome.

      @Justin - lol! ;P

@Ian - The Guild Hall allows you this sort of Guild Management aspect. Think something kind of like "Final Fantasy: My Life as a King". You set up squads, send them out on missions, continue playing, and after a short while you get news on their arrival if they succeeded or failed. This can open up new dungeons for you to explore, reward you with rare treasure, new weapons, and a lot more!

Curious as too how much time these would add to development?

      Nice pic for the goals.
I don't quite understand the Guild Hall goal.

    7. Justin Holmes on June 22, 2013

Soul Saga just called the ambulance! Wii U Wii U Wii U Wii U!

Looks like I'm treating six figures as the minimum now!

    8. Blackstaff on June 22, 2013

      Man, that's some stretchgoals 0__0

Anything less than 250k for this project would be a shame :)

For the localisation, you should open the game for modding and let the community create some translation patch. That would let you have the royal share of the budget for the game and allow fans everywhere to have the game in their language, even if it will come later down the road.

This update with the stretch goals made me increase my pledge by more than double. This game has me more excited for its possibilities than any other game I've pledged to on kickstarter, and I've pledged to more than a few, including games like Wasteland 2 and Divinity Original Sin. These concepts have me more pumped than I've been for a game in a long time and I've never wanted a game to meet all its stretch goals more than I want Soul Saga to! Good luck and here's to hoping I get to enjoy your full vision for Soul Saga.

The Skies of Arcadia and Suikoden style features would be epic.I also love the idea of being able to play from the other point of view.

If the guild stretch goals are reached, will the NPCs designed by backers from the $500+ tiers be recruitable?

Very good stretch goals indeed! I'm really excited about the possibilities with both story n gameplay that arise with each of these :D

I can't bring myself to settle with anything less than 250k now :P

How About Localisation in European Languages (French...) ?

    16. Disastercake Creator on June 22, 2013

If we reach Guild Battles that would definitely have hit my dream to make this very Suikoden inspired. ;)

    17. Colorblindpanda on June 22, 2013

I want those legendary weapons at the very least.
