Thanks to your support we've reached our goal! This album is now going to become a reality, thank you!!!
Our campaign will continue to run until the 13th of December and we will have our rewards available for that time. Any forthcoming donations will be utilized for album promotion with the hopes of getting our music national exposure. In order to do so we will need to engage a PR firm to help us with press, etc. Public relations is and expensive but necessary part of the music business and so every additional dollar we make from this Kickstarter will go toward getting the press we need to push this album as far as it can go.
What : Dirty Revival's very first full length album.
Since our first performance back in May of we have developed our vision, refined our sound, found our calling and now with your help we'd like to make our first real record. If our campaign is successful we plan to head into the studio during the first week of February 2015 with expectations to have the album mixed, mastered and duplicated by early May.
The process of producing an album is time consuming and can be very expensive, which is what brought us here.
Flora Recording & Playback, Portland, Oregon. This particular studio is perfect for us because it has three isolation booths that have good sightlines to the main room which means we can set up the whole band record the way we like to perform!
These are some of the local artists and professionals we intend to employee to help make this album.
- Producer and Engineer: Paul Laxer. Paul is a Portland based Mix Engineer and Producer who has worked with serval well-known artists and we are fortunate to have him on board. We worked with Paul during the creation of our debut EP and we can't think of a better fit for this project.
- Musicians: Beyond the core of Dirty Revival we've made plans to collaborate with several different musicians while creating this album, including Farnell Newton & Elton Cray.
- Artwork and Design: Jeff Hayes. Jeff is our beloved graphic designer, artwork and tech wizard. He has done so many things for us that it would be silly to list them all. Jessica Enouf is another talented artist that has an aesthetic that fits us perfectly.
As promised we have devised a plan and budgeted this entire endeavor to the best of our abilities. Here is a breakdown of what we'll be using your contributions for:
- Studio Time : $2800
- Production : $2000
- Mixing and Engineering : $4200
- Studio Techs : $150
- Mastering : $500
- Duplication : $1700
- Artwork and Design : $550
Total $11,900 + 10% for fees & padding for unforeseen expenses =
There ya have it folks, a plan for every cent!
Risks and challenges
The songs are ready, and we just need your help getting it to the masses! While we don’t expect any issues, there are always small risks and challenges when working on a large project. We are prepared for them and dedicated to making this as smooth as possible.
Unforeseen delays in production could affect fulfillment dates. We’ve worked it into our estimates, and will of course let you know if there are any sudden delays. Custom rewards are dependent on clear communication, and correspondence, which we will discuss and set with our supporters at those tiers.
While the music is ready to go, there's still production, editing, mixing, mastering and creative design work to be completed. Making a record is a long, expensive and complicated process. So it’s always hard to project a release date - delays happen, production runs longer than anticipated - but we are aiming to release the record by next spring. We will do our best to keep you updated as a final schedule develops.
Tech Malfunctions. Computers blow up, it's a thing. Luckily we practice backing up (in multiple locations) and are prepared should any tech issues surface. Knock on wood!
We ask for your patience, should any unexpected issues happen. Once the kickstarter period is completed, the plan is straight to the studio!
We are fully committed to this project and once we reach our goal, getting the Album recorded and our rewards to you are our top priorities. We will be happily keeping you updated as everything develops!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
