THE BACKER ENRICHMENT CENTER
It's been a full week since we re-launched Skyjacker, and not only have we already reached 20% of our goal, we've blown right past our old headcount - we broke a full 1,000 backers yesterday. Welcome aboard! We can't thank you enough, every one of you, for helping us blast off with such grace and strength. But we'll try.
MULTIMEDIA FOR ALL
You request and we deliver: Digitilus wallpapers for all devices featuring our multicolored mollusc. Download them all at DIGITILUS
Take, share, remix - go for five stars on Photoshop Hero - and above all enjoy. Let us know if you need one in a specific resolution or design and we'll make it happen.
We've also heard your reactions to the background music in our front page trailer. Some of you loved it! Some of you didn't. We can work with that. Here’s some Skyjacker music for you to freely stream and download:
This is our own Eugene Zhukov's work - he's contributing additional music for the menus, hangar, and other interfaces.
Not for me - the main theme instead!
This is the work of veteran composer Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz - he's composing the gameplay music, and this is a taste of what you can expect in the completed game.
STARSHIP DISASSEMBLY FOR ALL
We unveiled our free Starship Disassembly app for WINDOWS and ANDROID a few weeks ago, to give you an in-depth look at how all Skyjacker spaceships are put together (and taken apart). We just got Apple's approval to proudly offer it on iOS and MacOS devices as well!
Designed for both iPhone and iPad, the app features a Yatagooshee cruiser from Skyjacker with all components labelled and removable. It's a good look at the complexity of construction, the detail we're putting into every ship in Skyjacker, and the pieces that go spiraling off when you nail one of these suckers with a heavy weapon. Please don’t forget to leave feedback on the AppStore - we hope it will be positive and welcome more people to our community!
BOLT-ONS FOR ALL
Now for something completely different. We learned a hard lesson - don't mess with the reward tiers! We won't. Instead if you add $25 to a pledge (any pledge) we'll add to your reward. We're calling these extras "bolt-ons" because they add to your rewards, never replace them.
The first $25 bolt-on is a SKYJACKER SHIRT. This is an extra shirt: one t-shirt of ANY DESIGN, the same designs in the reward tiers. This was a popular community request that we're happy to fill!
The other $25 bolt-on is entirely new - PORTABLE SKYJACKER. This is an extra copy of the game: the Complete Edition of Skyjacker on a sleek 8GB USB flash drive. Now you can REALLY take Skyjacker on the road! It fits in your wallet like a credit card (okay, like six credit cards stacked) and features our iconic spaceship designs in full color on both sides. The flash drive itself slides free from the card for ease of handling, and back in for safekeeping when you're done.
(This is a mockup - the real thing won’t have those tearing artifacts, we promise.)
*** Note: if you're in for a DVD but you'd rather have the USB, we'll swap even, no charge and no strings attached.
Two shirts, one USB, one Settler edition? That’s fine! You can stack these in any combination. Update your pledge to cover the cost of all the bolt-ons you want, and we'll pull together everyone's shopping lists at the end with the Kickstarter survey. If you’re adding to a reward tier with no previous swag (including “no reward”) shipping is always free within the US but please add $15 for international.
NEUROBIOLOGY FOR ALL
Ever seen the movie “Pay it Forward”? It introduced a concept ubiquitous with entrepreneurs today. We’re big fans - we happily jumped on the Kicking it Forward program and started kicking with all five legs. There are so many creative minds in this world, our future can and WILL be better, if we all adhere to this simple concept: paying it forward.
Drifter is well-known for its beautiful, iconic poster art and its promises of a sandbox 100,000 light years wide. It's also the first 2.5D space game we've ever seen! Developer Colin Walsh (Red Nova) and composer Danny Baranowky (Binding of Isaac, Super Meat Boy, Canabalt) have screenshots and early gameplay video up, and the full DRM-free game drops at $10; that's a small price to pay for an entire galaxy. Drifter's Kickstarter ends on June 4th - save the date!
Rubicon isn't well-known at all. Joseph "Wick" Perry is a college student majoring in neurobiology and a self-taught game programmer and artist. Rubicon is going to be released for FREE on completion, not just to backers, but to everyone. The kickstarter itself had a goal of $2000 - just enough to get him through a summer break of intense focus on development. This is a genuine, untarnished love letter to space games and it's got 18 hours left on the clock! Please, welcome him! We need to cultivate good guys like this!
We're going to be revealing more about the aliens and their galactic fleets. That means new inside knowledge and new videos - all coming soon, very soon. Take a look at THIS!
Stay thirsty my friends for the next SKYJACKER update!
