Moonlighter is coming to Nintendo Switch! FAQ, next steps & new FX.
A LOT of people have been asking about this during the last few months, and we can finally announce it: Moonlighter is going to be released on Nintendo Switch! Yay! :D
We know that you all have some questions, so here's a quick FAQ:
IT IS POSSIBLE TO CHANGE MY BACKER COPIES TO NINTENDO SWITCH?
Yes. It's possible, but at a cost of $10 USD.
HOW MANY OF MY CURRENT COPIES CAN I CHANGE TO NINTENDO SWITCH?
Only 1 copy per backer.
We would love to be more flexible about this, but with our current tools and resources the required logistic would be just too much for us.
WHY DOES IT COST EXTRA MONEY?
Summarizing, Nintendo is charging us for each extra code. Since it has an extra cost for us, the game's price will be slightly higher. That also affects any backer willing to change his current platform to Switch.
We've been trying to figure out the exact amount in order to adjust this extra cost at maximum, and USD $10 feels pretty accurate. The idea is not to make any profit from this, but at least ensure that we're not investing the money from the other segments of the development.
WILL MOONLIGHTER BE RELEASED ON SWITCH ON DAY 1?
No. The Switch version of the game will be released few months after the regular release. On day one, we will release the game on Xbox One, PC, Mac, Linux (Steam/DRM-free) and PS4.
IS GOING TO BE A PHYSICAL VERSION FOR SWITCH?
We don’t have anything planned at the moment.
Summarising: It is possible to change the platform of one of your copies, and at a cost of USD $10.
So, in order to process your requests, we are setting up a small survey. It will be open only UNTIL DECEMBER the 1st (01.12.2017), so please hurry up if you want to change your platform!
After December 1st, we’ll start to process the payments. We will directly contact you with the following steps.
Finally, as we receive each payment, we will update your backer profile in our pledge manager (BackerKit).
You can expect this whole process to end before the end of this year :)
We have a great new for you all: The game can be played now from the beginning to the end on PC! :D
We still have some last details to polish but our efforts are now focused on the console versions (Xbox One and PS4).
Also, if you remember, we've been working for some time on the combat FX. Here's a sample of the final result!
Finally, we're starting to have some time for creating proper backer rewards. Stuff like the Art Book are going to be amazing! We'll keep you all updated about this in the following updates.
Thanks for your support!
By the way, a friend is doing this beautiful indie game currently on Kickstarter:
It's called Deiland, and it's about managing a little planet and having adventures in fantasy places. Go take a look! :D [LINK]
