Once Again We Travel Through Sound...
The debut release of Digital Reprints was a 4xCD box set of Entheogenic. The artwork was provided by Hakan Hisim. A big thing on its own accord.
Then followed a 5xCD box set of Kaya Project and the graphics design were provided by Nick "Interchill" Edell.
For a record label that isn't even a label (indie, community label??? call it what you want) that is pretty F**** huge. So where do you go after that I was wondering?
The answer for me was pretty obvious. Morison Bennett combines elements of Entheogenic, Ott and Shpongle, adds his own signature and creates Globular (also he gives his music away for free). In its core Psychedelic Dub, full of optimism and sometimes with humorous mood, inviting people to interpret it as they see fit, from chilling to dancing.
It was 2012 when I heard for the first time Colours Of The Brainbow and I knew straight away our musical relationship would last for years :) Globular didn't fail to deliver what he promised us with his debut release, again and again. And although his 2nd and 3rd album were released as physical copies, a burning hole was left for collectors like me who want to showcase their collection and appreciate the art that goes into creating a cd package.
I am so excited to announce that Globular will be the 3rd release of Digital Reprints. Colours of the Brainbow, In Formation, A Self-Fulfilling Prophesy, Sorbet For The Soul (with Radioactive Sandwich), Digging & Building and Up The Xylem Elevator - The Remixes for the first time printed on cd. Plus a bonus 4th cd compiled by Morison himself (unreleased tracks included). What more can you ask?
Risks and challenges
None. This will be the 3rd release and we know what we are doing. I noticed that what was actually taking most of the time was preparing the artwork for the cd. So I decided to step in and pre-pay the box set cover design so as to minimise waiting times.
The mastered audio files are secured so the only thing missing are the funds for printing this beauty.
