Hello, Tezuka family old and new! Welcome back! Thank you for stopping by our site. For our backers from previous campaigns, thank you for continued support.
For this campaign we would like to print the sentai series Wonder 3 by renowned manga creater, Osamu Tezuka, the creator of Astro Boy, Black Jack, Kimba the White Lion (a.k.a. Jungle Emperor Leo), Alabaster, and Unico.
Sentai can be translated to “task force” and a lot of Japanese anime/manga/live action shows are generally aimed at children with the main characters as protectors of Earth where they can transform and gain superpowers. Ever seen Power Rangers? That's a Super Sentai series.
Wonder 3 takes place in an alternate Earth in the year 196X and the world is overrun with war and violence. The Galactic Federation consisting of all the advanced species of the universe convene to decide the future of Earth, but due to a lack of information they decide to send an elite team, Wonder 3, to observe human species for one year and determine whether or not humans are worthy of saving. Upon landing on Earth, the three members of Wonder 3 – Bokko, Nokko, and Pukko – disguise themselves as animals and come across the two Hoshi brothers who defend humanity in their own way. With a time limit of one year, what can Wonder 3 learn from the Hoshi brothers about life on Earth?
Wonder 3 is one of the Tezuka titles that piqued my interest in his collection more than 35 years ago and is a series I still hold dear. The Disney movie Lilo and Stitch is similar in tone and story to Wonder 3 as Disney's Lion King is similar to Tezuka's Jungle Emporer Leo. – Hikaru Sasahara, President of DMI
There is also a stretch goal to print Osamu Tezuka's The Film Lives On. The single volume stand-alone manga is about friends Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro pursuing their dreams of becoming animators, but they soon have a falling out. Musashi falls in love with a woman named Otsu, but her yakuza family disapproves of their relationship, so they burn over 500 cels of Musashi's animation and damage his eyesight in the process. Despite all his tribulations, Musashi perseveres through adversity to make his animation truly “alive.”
For this campaign there will be limited edition items available for pledges as well, such as the wooden collector's coin, baseball shirts with the Wonder 3 logo, limited edition hand-made cel art, and the limited edition Wonder 3 journal from Moleskine with the option to have your name printed on the cover of your journal. There is also swag for when the campaign is funded, so let's make it to the goal and find out!
EDIT: The video had mentioned the Moleskine optional name addition will be imprinted on the interior cover, but should be on the FRONT COVER instead.
Here are the specifications for Wonder 3:

Stretch Goal: Print The Film Lives On by Osamu Tezuka
When we reach $55,900 we will be able to print Osamu Tezuka's manga, The Film Lives On. It will be printed on paper like Barbara and the reprint of Swallowing the Earth.
To reiterate, the story is about friends Miyamoto Musashi and Sasaki Kojiro pursuing their dreams of becoming animators, but they have a falling out, Musashi falls in love with a yakuza princess but her family doesn't approve and harms Musashi and his work. Despite all his worries, Musashi does his best to create the most "alive" character in animation.
We believe that all of Tezuka's work carry a spirit of global community, and there is no better way to reflect that than on a crowd funding platform such as Kickstarter. The Tezuka fan community has grown over the years on this platform and we want to continue to see it develop to where all generations, old and new, can convene into a place of common interest. Let's once again get together to achieve this goal!

Risks and challenges
We weigh heavily on the comments, praise, and criticisms from you, the fans. As many of Tezuka's work heavily explores the human condition, we at Digital Manga, Inc., also try to follow suit from his message—recognize and analyze where we went astray, get back on our feet and make good to get back on the correct path, and then strive to improve even more so in future endeavors.
We also provide backers with clear explanations about our goals and giveaway tiers, fast responses to questions, and frequent updates on the progress of the books and the giveaways. With that said, if you have any questions or concerns please message us (through the "Contact Me" button above) and we will reply as swiftly as possible.
"What if the merchandise is late?"
This would be because we were not satisfied with the makers of our merchandise and had to find an alternative company to produce them or demand a complete redo. Backers will be informed the minute it happens, and when we receive the completed goods.
"What if the books are late?"
It's not uncommon for books to be late. There are multiple parties involved with publishing a book. Of course, you will be informed right away about the problem and how long of a delay you can expect.
DISCLAIMER: Please keep in mind that the tiers are set and we cannot switch items out in exchange for other items. If an item becomes unavailable or damaged before shipping out the rewards package to the backer, an item of equivalent or greater value will be substituted.
