Does your RPG tools look like these? Are they on your tablet? or mobile devices?
It's about managing your RPG stuff how you want on the device of your choice. Win, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS tablets, smart phones and the Nook & Kindle, and You can prep games. Use it for tracking and referencing your game world during game sessions. Players can manage all their player character stats, gear, journals. Use as much or as little detail as you want. On desktop computers and mobile devices - on your terms. Everything for managing your game at the table and at your fingertips. No matter the game system.

The War Gnomes make a break for it - No More Lawn Tending!
The Ultimate RPG Toolkit is scheduled for release in Sept 2013 - what else ships with it is in your hands.
Today the Ultimate RPG Toolkit runs on desktop (PC/Mac/Linux) and is in QA. Development to the mobile platforms has begun. At this point the bulk of the work is about developing skins and support for RPGs. Adding in content you want to use.
What other games should we be supporting? What other skins would you like to see?
While we're here re-naming this Ultimate app will be crowd-sourced. "The Ultimate RPG Toolkit App" - that's a mouthful. We will put it to a vote of gnomes! If you've got some suggestions (within context) I'm all ears. After funding every backer gets a vote. Winner takes all!
RPG templates/Skins includes:
These Skins are all included for reward tiers that pledge $20 or more.
Remember - you can make your own templates! Or riff off of these. Wargnomes.com will provide a repository to share templates and download skins.
The software release is scheduled for mid-September 2013. Updates will continue through year's end for supporting Ultimate Pathfinder SRD content and skins.
Alpha/Beta versions of the desktop will be provided to the beta Gnomes by end of March after this project closes. Updates will continue here and on WarGnomes.com with forums setup for beta users.
Having broken free of their Lawn Master the WarGnomes have their heads in the clouds.
This mission funds the 'Cloud Bazaar'. A RPG marketplace for selling user content - campaigns, art, adventures. It also funds developing a Play-by-X platform.
The Ultimate RPG Toolkit App demo. Everyone gets early access to the demo. Save for limited local saving ability it is fully featured and distributed to KS backers only. Every Gnome backer gets to vote on the name change of the App. Every Gnome (with a copy of the full software) gets to pick a RPG skin.
Skins are custom screens and templates tailored to a RPG system. These will often include game specific features:
Burning Empires includes a Phase Tracker and relationship chart
3:16 has an interactive range map for when it's time to throw down against the alien hordes.
Dungeon World has interactive fronts.
The current list is:
The WarGnomes Beanie. I've got the base beanie all picked out - I'm shopping for sample work to get the embroider work done...and done nice. If I could EVERYBODY would get one. However, these are limited and only in selected reward tiers.
Cloud Storage service. Some of the reward tiers have cloud storage services. Wargnomes will host a cloud storage and syncing service as another option to Dropbox or UbuntuOne. There will be no recurring fees for KS backers of these reward tiers.
The Ultimate Tome of Lore. Gnome First Class and above get to add to the Ultimate Tome of Lore! A feature included in the Ultimate RPG Toolkit App you can randomly select an entry and work it into your game. Backers can submit a piece of lore, a snippet of fortune or caution (and image if inclined!) and it will be credited on the generated result.
RPG Owners. We can build your game templates as a feature into the core app. It will use the standard interface for display. We can also do a branded version and customize your template screens. The software design is modular, we can add functionality for you if you're Gnome enough! Contact me if this is something you're interested in.
I'm founder and executive manager of DigitalGnomes,LLC. There are roughly 2000 users across the country using a SaaS product I developed and maintain. Desktop software that stores data realtime to cloud based servers.
These same users enter data realtime, everyday into this software and agencies like HUD, the VA, organizations like the United Way, Salvation Army carry out reporting and data mining from cloud based servers.
Digital Gnomes has also built advertising games for Colgate, Lucas Films, and the infamous MS Ask Santa and a dog food company...yep, an ad game for dog food.
I've recently launched WarGnomes. All RPG/Tabletop software, all the time. We're beta testing character generation software for the Burning Wheel RPG and with your backing - we will complete development on The Ultimate RPG Toolkit App.
It's been a steady stream of code and gaming for me since Capt.O had D&D as a prize, Radio Shack had TRS-80s and I was a Champion before Marvel had FASERIP. You'll catch me at GenCon, Forge MidWest, all the BurningWheelCons, Origins. As well as GDC and PAX.
I think I hear your tablet calling...
Yes. Unconditionally, yes I can.
No compromises. Are You in?
Having been to the circus quite a few times. I took a paranoid approach to the development schedule and I've selected developers I've completed projects with for this work. The core features are built and are in a QA cycle. The KS beta users will be instrumental in shaking out quirks before migrating to mobile devices. I will leverage our infrastructure at Digital Gnomes for cloud services.
That said, my fear is the iOS App store process throwing off my timeline, and surprises found in QA cycles are time-sinks. Right now the bulk of the work is designing skins for tablets and smart phones.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
The software is game neutral. You can use it with any RPG. Full support for Dungeon World and Pathfinder will be built in. That means templates and features come ready to build fronts and dangers for Dungeon World or Pathfinder stat blocks.
The Desktop app runs on Win/Mac - we're testing Linux setups.
The tablets supported are Android, iOS. We're reviewing the Nook and Kindle.
We plan to support Android and iOS based mobile devices (smartphones) that comes down to funding and what features make sense to have on small display devices.
There shall be NO game left behind!!! Our real issue in making skins is copyright infringement. I will always seek to team-up with game owners first. Where this works those skins will be full featured with as much as the game owner allows me to do. Otherwise it is an effort in how much can we do without stepping on toes and breaking laws and being...well, you know.
So yes. Even Skyrealms could get a skinning.
You will always have the option to keep your data local or use Dropbox/UbuntuOne to store and synch your data - even when we active server support. Using our cloud servers isn't mandatory. Cloud servers exist primarily to let folks share, exchange - possibly even sell content among their players or the RPG community. We'll certainly need them to facilitate any remote play options.
Templates format game data. You might have a template you're sharing with all the NPCs in your campaign. There might be a template for empty stat blocks for different creatures, items, spells in another game. With a template you could copy or alter these things for your needs.
Skins are templates with art and features built in. A mini-app in most cases. A Skin of the Marvel Heroic game could have the damage track widgets built in, maybe a way to select which powers are activated as you are building your dice pool. Mythender's play sheet has LOTS of widgets that could be built into a skin. On the e x t r e m e end, skins can be made to generate game specific things like characters, events, whatever there are game rules for.
