Just a quick update for this month - All of our attention is on the upcoming beta release. It's so close you can almost taste the sweet flavor of searing proton beams! While the beta is of course not the same thing as a finished game, it's going to give you a good idea of how the game world operates and what it's like to battle various alien fleets. A large variety of items, weapons and ship upgrades already exists although some placeholder art can still be found. The combat simulator mode also allows you to play freely with all the ships and systems in the game.

During the beta phase, we will add to the content and implement some features that are currently unfinished, such as mission structure and a number of scripted events and story elements. The initial beta release simply drops you in the world and allows you to explore the sector for a period of time. We are planning to begin the beta on Friday, April 11.
