They don’t see you.

The two monsters wander listlessly below the walkway, and you crouch in trepidation, watching them. Perhaps they will go away. You’re running low on bullets, so that would be a wonderful turn of events.

One of the monsters turns toward the other, each of its three tongues probing the air in its brother’s direction. The other one looks at it, cocking its head. Crouching down low, it growls. The first one barks, and then it strikes.

You jump in surprise as the first one lunges at its comrade and starts ripping at its flesh with its hands and feet and teeth and tongues. As the second one screams, the first begins shoveling its friend down its throat, ripping tendons and gnawing on muscle.

Eventually the screams stop, and only the greedy sounds of chewing and slurping and drinking remain. Collecting yourself, you take aim at the back of the monster’s head. But now something else happens. The remaining beast shudders. And then it begins to grow. Its arms and legs and body begin to swell and expand, muscles growing and stretching as new growths sprout out of its back. It’s taller now. And so much stronger.

The cannibal quivers as its growth spurt comes to an end. Then it whirls around and looks right at you. It roars before leaping straight up into the air, its talons searching for your face.

If Cannibal enters the game, it’s because a Ravenous grew too hungry. If two Ravenous are close to each other and not within range of any investigators, one of the two Ravenous will turn on its brother and devour it, taking its strength as well as its body into its own. It is then that a Cannibal is born. The two Ravenous figures are removed, and replaced by the one Cannibal figure.

Cannibal is more brutal than Ravenous. It ruthlessly attacks the investigator with the lowest life, but its greatest threat lies in the fact that it can also force investigators to attack each other. Stay for a bite, won’t you?

When Amanda was a young woman she rebelled against the silver spoon that had been shoved in her mouth and left home for the ocean. She got a job on a cargo tug called the Isabel and worked tirelessly until she had developed a reputation which commanded the utmost respect. It wasn’t long before she was the quartermaster for the ship, second only to the captain himself.

The Isabel won a contract from the Leng Corporation, hauling ore from a hidden facility that the crew were not allowed to actually set foot in. Cargo was brought to them on small barges or submersibles and loaded aboard, while the crew maintained a strict “don’t ask/don’t tell” policy. But then one day there was more than just ore on the submersible: there was something else. Something dark and terrible. Something that killed her entire crew. Amanda was barely able to take the monstrosity down before it could get her, too.

Massive damage was inflicted on the Isabel’s engines, and she was set drifting amidst the waves of the Pacific. Amanda survived through strict rationing, and through the companionship of her last remaining crewmate: her black cat, Jon. Then, one day, another ship came upon the Isabel. They found Amanda and Jon, rescuing them. However, it wasn’t long before Amanda learned where her saviors were headed. Now Amanda finds herself barreling straight back into the mouth of madness, into the belly of the Leng Corporation’s hidden facility.

(Jon and Amanda are separate miniatures, and can act separately from each other.)

Will you add the devoured effect tokens along the plastic ones???

To answer myself, just in case someone else would like to know the same thing - I have checked QS's FAQ, and it seems that the Sealed Hatch is a permanent obstruction which is used exclusively in some scenarios to block passage between some areas.

@Diemension Games: What exactly is the relation of the Sealed Hatch from this Token pack and the Closed Hatch from the 3D pack? I checked the pages 22-25 of the guide but it mentions closed and broken hatches only. So I am somewhat confused what this Sealed Hatch token is.

The new Ravenous card will be in play when you use Cannibal as the new card will have instructions on when to create Cannibals. If you want games without Cannibals you'd use the original card.

To creators: There ara 34 SG unlocked, not 33. You remember de SG for Halloween? ;)

I cannot like this post enough. I like all the nods in the back story. I think this may be my favourite character, obviously!

@ Dimension Games: Given that there are more add-ons, will we see any discounted bundles anytime soon? I would expect that to increase the Pledge commitments somewhat.

If a full set is twic and the price they should just make it another add on then some will get the smaller pack and some the complete set I know I would pay more for a complete set for this game

    9. Daniel Korbely on

Will the new ravenous card replace the other ravenous card, so its not neccessary any more?

      @quotestar: you may be right.
Too bad but it could mean I m out.
Don't want to play with boardgame token nor a 40 buck add on.
      We will see...

I like the Ripley persona but the knife looks dumb as fuck... fix it please guys ! more thickness of the blade at the start (it really looks dorky as fuck right now)

    12. QuoteStar

It doesn't look like there's tokens listed in the expansion.

    13. Ian short on

Will the tokens from the expansions be available in plastic?

    14. QuoteStar

These are the most commonly used tokens. A full set of 250+ would probably be twice the price.

I was very happy to see a plastic token add on but now I realise that many token are missing despite the price :(
It is back to 1 buck pledge to see how it goes.

Not to be a downer, but the quality of replacement plastic tokens has varied wildly in various games I've seen. As much as I would love to buy some nice plastic tokens, I know for me, this is a pass without seeing production samples.

    17. Todd Ferrullo on

So the pack does not have the 44 Devoured Effect Tokens at all, has 42 Wound Tokens (instead of 63), 20 Exhausted/Madness Tokens (instead of 40 which seems light for a 5 or 6 player game), 10 Weaken/Slow Tokens (instead of 15) and 6 Objective Markers (instead of 10).
I am not sure if I am going to get it or not since it does not replace all the cardboard even though when it was announced I figures it was a must buy. The lack of the Devoured Effects alone may make this a pass for me.

    18. Michael Pflug on

We don't know if the other tokens will ever get a plastic version. But the ones that are available now are the ones that get used the most, so it's fine for me.

    19. Dan M on

Kinda lame that the tokens are not all plastic...........they gonna make us buy additional "future" sets ???

    20. Michael Pflug on

I don't like that we get less of the same tokens than the cardboard ones. Why get plastic ones, when I still have to use the cardboard tokens when they run out?

    21. Michael Pflug on

@ Thomas Aigner: The rest of the tokens are spawning tokens ( which we already get in plastic) and devoured effects.

Making the numbers on the health tokens a bit larger should do the job.

The cat is called Jon all but once, when he's called Jones. That made me take a closers look at the pic.
So, this monster that took out her entire crew, did she blow it out of the g*******d airlock of the ore carrier Nostromo?
Nice choice of name for the human, too. Last name of the actress, first name of the character's daughter....

    23. Claus Appel on

I agree with @Juha that the numbers are hard to see. At first glance I did not notice that the four pictures were different at all. They should be clearer. :)

    24. Claus Appel on

I love how Jon the Cat will be a separate miniature! :D

    25. Missing avatar

      Sascha Keil on

      Greetings from Ellen Ripley.
      It's the same biography.
      Maybe a second clone?

    26. Juha on

I will sure get those plastic markers, so much better than cardboard.
One thing though. The numbers in the wound markers should really be improved. Right now they are sort of blending in to the background art, and the number is a tad bit small. I would like to have a clearer wound markers, so that people don't need to be squinting to see what the number is.

    27. Thomas Aigner on

Do the 96 plastic tokens replace 96 of the 250+ punchboard tokens or more of them?
Which tokens will not be replaced?

    28. Diemension Games 2-time creator on

Yes, we really need the video now!! Hope it will be released today or tomorrow.

    29. Skolo

      @DG: we need gameplay video

    30. QuoteStar

Oh, nice! These tokens look a lot more like the ones for Zombicide than Others 7 Sins. I hope they can keep all the detail on them.
