Hey, I'm Dia!
I am a 22 year old Christian singer/songwriter from Shelby, North Carolina. Music has always played a major part in my life. I listened to all kinds of music growing up, but after I gave my life to Christ I was convicted of many things, and ungodly music was one of them. That conviction brought about my exploration into the Christian music world. There had to be good-Christ glorifying music out there, right? I started in the Gospel realm listing to artists such as Fred Hammond and Nicole C Mullen. Then, I was introduced to the Contemporary Christian music world and fell in love with artists such as Francesca Battistelli, Mandisa, Casting Crowns and Matthew West. When I was about 13 years old I was introduced to Christian rock and Christian pop / HipHop and I was sold. My love for music grew even more. Not only was it good music, but I saw God IN it. I knew I had to be a part of it.
This past March I released my first single titled "No One." Simply having the chance to record and release a song that I wrote was a dream come true, but what God has done with it afterwards has been such a blessing for me. Since March, No One has been played on the radio and it has been streamed over 6,000 times all across the United States. It has also been played in countries such as Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, Australia, Great Britain, Japan, Norway, Italy, Netherlands, Germany, India, Switzerland, Spain, and many more! In total, No One has been played in over 30 countries! This is what this means for me- The Gospel of Jesus Christ has been proclaimed in countries all over the world through my song! God is so good. I am really wanting to be able to continue my music ministry across the globe by creating, recording, and releasing more songs that spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am creating this Kickstarter to help fund what I need for my next project- an EP release of 5-7 songs total. Donating to my music is donating to the mission field- to the spreading of the Good News of Christ's life, death, and resurrection- and that is what I am asking of you today. This isn’t about me becoming “famous” but about making Him famous! Feel free to donate any amount that you feel called to give.
I personally, am not a huge fan of fundraisers or asking people to donate. I was very nervous when I was advised to start this Kickstarter. However, a kickstarter is designed "as a home for creative minds and a wonderful platform; where people who believe, respect, and see the vision can support an idea and make it a reality."
If you can see the vision please support me and make it a reality.
Risks and challenges
Common risks at this point is funding. I have a notebook full of great songs but will never be able to get them fully produced without the funds for quality music.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
