Quick Ryuutama Supplement Update

Posted by Andy Kitkowski (Creator)

Hi team Ryuutama: Apologies for radio silence for so long. A quick update from us and an announcement!

A Fall-Themed Ryuutama Scenario!

Matt has put together a Green Ryuujin scenario for Ryuutama called "The Great Pumpkin". It's available to all in plain text now (we'll add it to the official Ryuutama website in a bit). You can download it HERE. The best way to describe it is "Ryuutama's TROLL 2, but happier and better acting".

A Ryuutama Halloween Scenario Contest!

Not happy with just releasing a scenario, Matt decided to dive into the deep end, and put together a scenario creation contest for Ryuutama, featuring prizes (including a set of Ryuutama-themed dice bags he had commissioned). The contest is open for a month, and given that Ryuutama scenarios can be so simple they practically write themselves, this is a great chance to get some swag!

The contest details and submission instructions have been announced in a few places, like here on Reddit, or else here on Google Plus if you prefer.

Ryuutama First Supplement Status

We're WAY overdue with providing you an update on this, sorry about that. In between writing the scenario above and coming up with the contest, Matt is doing the final collection of data that is making it into the first Scenario book. Unfortunately, one of the delays has been issues with the licensing of the original art for the first supplement.

Unlike the Ryuutama core book (where the data, contents and art all reverted to Okada-san's ownership), there's unfortunately a lot of complications with the rights of the original Japanese first supplement: Okada-san owns the text and data; the original art is mostly available. We're currently in the process of cataloging the art into what we can and can't use. From there, anything we can't use (the original data)... we plan on recreating, since we have access to the original artist.

The supplement data/text we'll have ready to share with the supplement backers within the next month, in raw text form. If all goes well with the art, we will have the fully illustrated/laid out supplement ready before the end of the year (in PDF format, and then in a Print on Demand format for those who want a physical copy).

Thanks for your patience here. Before the end of this month we'll have another public update on the status of the supplement and art, and we hope then to share 1-2 pieces of data with the community as well.

Thanks again!

Yeah, when I got to that line I spit hot green tea out of my nose.

Matt owes me a new nose.
