It's the year 2120 where living on an orbital station around the earth has become a reality, home to more than 200 people with regular travel between planet earth and the station itself, HORIZON has become bigger and more popular then anyone had ever planned.
In Nakiti Generations you play as a heroine who has been caught in a huge disaster aboard the station that takes you crashing on to an uncharted world, are you the only survivor?
Nakiti Generations is a 2D platformer that has exploration and discovery playing a big role, you will discover new skills that allow you to reach new locations you could never reach before, better gear to help defeat foes and power-ups to help you survive, in short it's a 'metroidvania' style game.
The game itself has been in the design stages for quite a few years, over the last few months the game has become more of a main project to the point where currently there is basic gameplay, a level editor to build from and features for gameplay... though they are not fully complete it's still a playable experience, content such as a huge world to run around, multiple enemies, boss encounter designs and an ending to tie it all together are still required, this is where kickstarter can help.
With the help of kickstarter backers this game can become a full time product and have all the planned content included in it's final release, the funding also helps in producing more original music and art work to make a more pleasing game.
Some key information about development so far:
Nakiti Generations is designed and made by one person for the most part, all in-game visuals and gameplay are by Ryan Marcham @diablohead
Artwork is by Scott 'scoot' @ScootSenpai
Music is dynamic, it changes beat and track depending on the players situation and location. Music created by Malcolm Brown @DragonXVI
The game is built using Clickteam Fusion 2.5 developer.
Runs at a resolution of 480 x 270 at 60fps that can upscale easily.
Supports keyboard and xinput controllers with automatic detection and hot swapping.
Currently only runs on windows OS but other builds can be looked into at release if demand is there (mac, android and iOS are possible)
Risks and challenges
The challenges I have had to face with this game include building a game which I and others can enjoy, countless hours have been spent combing over everything multiple times to make sure it works as intended and as my first game it needs to show that I am up to the task.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
