Welcome to DGS Games' Kickstarter Project featuring the Kuzaarik Forgers from the Freeblades fantasy skirmish miniatures game.
This project’s main objective is to fund the creation and production of 6 new fantasy miniatures for use in our tabletop skirmish game, Freeblades. Your backing will take these 6 miniatures from concept art, to masterful sculptures and then into production to be delivered to customers like you.
In Freeblades, there is no good and evil, there are only the choices you make. Can you successfully kidnap the rich merchant, will you defeat the rampaging beast, can you fight your way through demons to close witchgates before your opponent, or do you simply wish to drive your opponent from the field of battle. These are only a few of the missions you may find yourself engaged in. Freeblades features League style play as well, allowing your Freeband to grow as you acquire gold, its members gain experience and become more powerful or become injured and possibly die from their wounds.
The new Concept Art:
The 6 Kuzaarik miniatures we seek your support to produce are the: Forge Warden, Kryomancer, Hinterguard, Field Agent, Quarreler and Explorer.
Forge Wardens are proven warriors on the battlefield. But that is not enough. A would-be Warden must also prove themselves loyal to the people. It begins by catching the eye of a Senior Agent in the PDC. Under the scrutiny and tutelage of the Senior Agent, the candidate's loyalty and resolve are tested. Once deemed worthy, the rank earns them the honor of holding Trusted Positions, such as protecting the High Forges or leading Freebands beyond the borders of Kuzaarl.
NOTE: Final green of the Forge Warden can be seen in Update #14.
Once the Kryomancer Guild found themselves at the heart of Kuzaarik industry, for it is only through their enchantments and power that the Cold Forges can operate. With the death of the Great Cities and the seizure of the last Cold Forge by the High Council, the Kryomancer Guild has lost much of its influence. Kryomancers are forced to seek other means of making a living. Some hire out to Freebands, others become advisors to various Guildmasters. While these more mundane roles chafe with many, they know the edict "All Must Serve" is no idle threat.
As implacable as they are heavily armored, the Hinterguard are a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. The armored advance of a Hinterguard unit is the literal hammer that smashes the enemy against the anvil of the Wayblocker formations. Able to shrug off the mightiest blows, they are highly valued companions whether on the battlefield or in a Freeband.
The Prejudicial Diplomatic Corp was originally created to supply agents abroad and ambassadors to foreign powers, in recent times the organization has turned its focus inward. Most Agents can now be found within various aspects of Kuzaarik society. They are tasked with monitoring, watching, reporting and sometimes even judging the actions of their fellow citizens. Compliance with the strict laws and edicts of the High Council is now the PDC's primary responsibility. While their presence may make some nervous, a politically savvy Warden welcomes their addition to a Freeband as Agents have a variety of skills that are most useful.
While not terribly long ranged, the double crossbow wielded by the Quarrelers is the ideal weapon for defensive formations and garrisons alike. This quality made it an easy choice as a State Weapon. Issued to select young Kuzaarik during their militia service along with their armor, they must maintain these items of war for the rest of their lives. A trained Quarreler can maintain a withering rate of fire that will thin the ranks of the advancing enemy and make them reconsider their previous course of action.
Sometimes a path chosen, sometimes assigned by Committee to atone for some minor crime, the life of an Explorer is rarely easy. They may walk the boundaries of Kuzaarik lands, delve into the Lost Cities to recover artifacts of value, or search for new veins of ore. The sheer cliffs they must traverse in their travels can be the least of their worries, for Vekul find the unwary Explorer a tasty treat.
DGS Games is proud to be a Made in the USA company. We work hard to validate our supply chain to ensure compliance with our business philosophy and also go a step farther to use local suppliers when able. We feel this allows us to deliver great products while minimizing risks to either quality or deadlines.
Our sculptors are some of the best in the gaming industry and include names like:Chris Jackson, Patrick Keith, Gene Van Horne and Gael Goumon. We collaborate with this top caliber talent to bring our players highly detailed and amazing miniatures. By backing our project you will enable us to continue partnering with this talent and make the best products a gamer could want.
What folks are saying about our minatures:
"I have to admit, out of all the games out there, what sold me about your[Freeblades] game was the fact everything is made right here in the good ole US of A. Keep it up! "
- Eddie from Louisiana, on DGS Forums
"I just wanted to drop a quick note of thanks! Not only do
you make my current favorite minis game, but you're also fantastic to work with
as a retailer. I had sent an email maybe an hour ago with a small problem
(mispacked Trillian starter) and a separate question. Richard got back to me
already, with complete, thorough, and favorable answers/solutions! (this stands
out even more to me today, as I'm dealing with another miniatures company today
that is far less professional in their retailer dealings...). A.W.E.S.O.M.E.S.A.U.C.E."
- Keith from Riverside Hobbies and Games in Ohio on FaceBook.
"These are the models that get gamers to buy figures for a game they have yet to discover. Another fantastic model."
- Bryan about the Questing Knight of Sylvia on Facebook

In our exciting and dangerous World of Faelon seventeen glorious factions exist (well I should say announced….could be that we have others in the works….shhhh). DGS released the Freeblades rulebook and miniatures for 4 factions and creatures in 2012. With Freeblades and our miniatures so well received by gamers, we have decided to accelerate our plans to make and release our 8th faction - the Kuzaarik Forgers. Your backing will allow DGS to expand our product line and greatly increase the speed to market of the Kuzaarik Forgers for your enjoyment.
We have so much excitement and great gaming to share. Post your questions here. Join us on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and our own website – www.dgsgames.com.

DGS appreciates your interest and support. We extend a hearty thank you to our fans, customers, partners, retailers, wholesalers and families for all of their help in making DGS Games, the World of Faelon, Freeblades and our miniatures come to life!
All DGS Games miniatures may contain small parts and are not intended for children under the age of 12.
A word on scale and material:
Our 32mm models are cast in white metal (lead free) alloy and designed to match favorably in size with what has become known as “28mm heroic scale.”Heroic scale models are not just taller than 28mm, they are also aggressively proportioned with large hands, heads, muscles and weapons. Our models are typically as tall as current “28mm” models, but reflect typical anatomical proportions and compare in scale with those by Reaper and other top manufacturers. They are superbly sculpted to allow strong character identification and a fun and rewarding painting surface. Whether used with DGS’s games, in role-playing or any other miniatures experience, our figures will enhance your gaming pleasure.
Shipping Zone Rates:
We tried using flat rate international shipping in the past, but found it simply unfair in 90% of the cases. So in order to try to be more fair, we've broken up the "world" into zones. Please add the appropriate amount to your pledge for the area you live in. If you have any questions please let us know and we will get you an answer.
US - Free Shipping (except where noted)
Mexico/Canada - add $12
United Kingdom - - add $20
Mainland Europe - add $28
Anywhere else - add $40
When selecting an Add-on(s), simply add the cost of the Add-on(s) to your Pledge amount. Details of which Add-on(s) you want will be gathered at the successful completion of the project when you fill out your Kickstarter Survey.

Risks and challenges
The risks to completion are very low. We have successfully completed 2 similar Kickstarter Projects and delivered on time. We have been producing 32mm metal fantasy miniatures for 6 years and are lucky to work with some of the best people in the business. Our experience with the 2 previous Kickstarter projects taught us a lot and we have established realistic timelines for our rewards and project completion. Our collaborating artists, sculptors and casters are proven reliable in their delivery of both concept and timeline. It's always true that something unforeseen can happen, and *that* is where our planning has gone. We have shown we can bring you a model according to our established Kickstarter timeline - what we are doing now is working through all the crazy outlier things that could go wrong and what we would do about them. And more importantly, all the stretch rewards we want to give you when we exceed our goal!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
