Welcome to DGS Games Kickstarter Project featuring the Falkaaran Adventurers from the Freeblades fantasy miniatures game. This exciting project is focused on rapidly expanding DGS Games extraordinary line of 32mm fantasy miniatures. This project’s main objective is to create and produce 5 new fantasy miniatures for use in our tabletop skirmish game Freeblades. Your backing will take these 5 miniatures from artistic concept to masterful sculptures to production molds from which are spun countless freebands of highly detailed Falkaaran figures for customers to purchase.

The 5 Falkaaran miniatures we seek your support to produce are the: Jendal Bladeseeker, Karadal Bladesister, Knight Defender, Pikeman and Sailor.
The bladegrounds of Jendal produce some of Faelon’s finest and most dangerous swordsmen. Before a bladeseeker can advance to the venerated rank of Blademaster he must complete a bladequest. Bladequests are multi-faceted journeys of personal trial and growth, but are also designed to return experience and lessons back to the bladeschools. Jendal bladesworn, with their rugged armor and vicious kolekars, often find service as a freeband leader the perfect vehicle to carry them on their bladequests.
Karadal is charged with shielding Falkaar’s most open border, and the barony’s warriors serve on the front line of the kingdom’s defense. The Karadal bladeschool teaches one of the most direct fighting styles, concerned with striking the killing blow quickly and without wasted motion. The bladesworn of Karadal are cynical about the role of others, feeling they bear the burden of constant border clashes while others only talk of practice floors and mock combat.
Each of Falkaar’s Dukes and Barons keeps a cadre of knights in their service. The Knight Defenders are the guardians of the Royal Gate in Baramar and attend the King and Crown Prince directly. Some are sent on detached duty to study foreign armies or the fighting ways of the Tribes. They are highly sought after as freeblades for their skill at arms and ability to stand like a castle tower in a fight.
Pike-wielding soldiers form the resolute bedrock of Falkaar’s armies. Many of Falkaar’s young men learned the way of war marching and drilling for their Duke. Mustered out of their liege’s army, many seek work as freeblades, putting their martial skills to good use.
Falkaar is both a maritime and a mercantile nation.Cogs and caravels, cruisers and cargo ships alike need able bodied men and women to serve aboard. Many in Falkaar respond to the call of the sea, even those who are not raised in sight of it.Often the adventures on which freebands find themselves take place off the coast, up rivers or among the islands.Sailors make the perfect addition to a Falkaaran freeband, especially one with a penchant for nautical work.
DGS has the pleasure of working with some of the best artistic and sculpting talent in the gaming industry including Gael Goumon, Patrick Keith, and Chris Jackson. We collaborate with this top caliber talent to bring highly detailed and amazing miniatures to market. We do not shrink from the cost of top talent because we know it makes for the best products for our customers. By backing our project you will enable us to continue partnering with this talent to make the best products for which a gamer could ask.
All our miniatures are 32mm scale and cast of white metal (lead-free) alloy. This material creates a high quality durable miniature with exceptional texture and surface for painting brilliant works of art. Each figure is sold unpainted.
A word on scale. Our 32mm models are designed to match favorably with what has become known as “28mm heroic scale.”Heroic scale models are not just taller than 28mm, they are also aggressively proportioned with large hands, heads, muscles and weapons. Our models are typically as tall as current “28mm” models, but reflect typical anatomical proportions. Our models compare in scale with those by Reaper and other top manufacturers and are superbly sculpted to allow strong character identification and a fun and rewarding painting surface. Whether used with DGS’s games, in role-playing or any other miniatures experience, our figures will enhance your gaming success.
This photo shows one of our models in comparison to a Reaper Miniatures model.
In our exciting and dangerous World of Faelon seventeen glorious factions exist. Each faction comes to life through our Freeblades rules and miniatures. DGS released the Freeblades rulebook and miniatures for four factions in 2012 and the fifth in early 2013. All of these miniatures can be seen on our website. With Freeblades and our miniatures so well received by gamers, we have decided to accelerate our plans to make and release our sixth faction - the Falkaaran Adventurers. Your backing will allow DGS to expand our product line and greatly increase the speed to market of the Falkaaran Adventurers for our customer’s enjoyment.

Risks and challenges
The risks to completion are very low. We successfully completed a similar Kickstarter, our first, last summer. Everything was completed and delivered on time. We are accomplished at producing 32mm metal fantasy miniatures from concept to shipping and are lucky to work with some of the best people in the business. Our experience with our first Kickstarter project taught us a lot and we have established realistic timelines for our rewards and project completion. Our collaborating artists, sculptors and casters are proven reliable. Its always true that something unforeseen can happen, and *that* is where our planning has gone. We have shown we can bring you a model according to our established Kickstarter timeline - what we are doing now is working through all the crazy outlier things that could go wrong and what we would do about them. And more importantly, all the stretch rewards we want to give you when we exceed our goal!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
