We wanted to share a Work in Progress of the Ventarx model we are already having sculpted.
New Lioness also available through this Project
We will be releasing the new Urdaggar Lioness model at GenCon this year - BUT -- she is also available at a discount as part of this project. Don't miss a chance to get this great model.
About this project
Welcome to DGS Games' Kickstarter Project featuring the Creatures of Faelon from the Freeblades fantasy skirmish miniatures game.
This project’s main objective is to fund the creation and production of 5 new fantasy miniatures for use in our tabletop skirmish game, Freeblades. These creatures will expand your play experience in both existing and soon to be released scenarios. Your backing will take these 5 miniatures from concept art, to masterful sculptures and then into production to be delivered to customers like you.
In Freeblades, there is no good and evil, there are only the choices you make. Can you successfully kidnap the rich merchant, will you defeat the rampaging beast, can you fight your way through demons to close witchgates before your opponent, or do you simply wish to drive your opponent from the field of battle. These are only a few of the missions you may find yourself engaged in. Freeblades features League style play as well, allowing your Freeband to grow as you acquire gold, its members gain experience and become more powerful or become injured and possibly die from their wounds.
The new Concept Art:
Whether summoned or appearing on their own the Shalkarak strikes terror in the heart of an unsuspecting traveler. The huge serpent can crush a man in its coils or sink its fangs completely through its victim’s chest. Viewed by the Urdaggar as the embodiment of the Serpent Totem, the Shalkarak is a dangerous threat if a Freeband is faced by a Snake Mystic.
An Ar-Grush is a mature female Grush, and mother to one or more young Grush. If enraged an Ar-Grush is one of the most devastating natural land creatures in all of Faelon. A charging Ar-Grush has been known to knock over a fully armored and mounted Haradelan Knight, tearing the knight and horse limb from limb. Even Golats avoid an Ar-Grush protecting her cubs.
Few beings bring such dread and foreboding to Faelon as the unnerving Mokruhl. Their unsettling appearance matches their bizarre taste for suffering and disorder. They possess a boundless thirst for sowing confusion and revel in the pain caused by distrust. Foresters and Whiteshields are sworn to kill them on sight. Those who come into contact with a Mokruhl must be watched closely for days afterwards for signs of manipulation and misguidance.
Concept art is great but....
I know what you're thinking. The concept art looks great but can these guys really pull it off? We've been working with top-notch artists and sculptors for 8 years. Here is an example of what was created in a previous Kickstarter.
How big are they?
Below are silhouettes of the concept art to give you an idea of their size compared to a man-sized figure.
DGS Games is proud to be a Made in the USA company. We work hard to validate our supply chain to ensure compliance with our business philosophy and also go a step farther to use local suppliers when able. We feel this allows us to deliver great products while minimizing risks to either quality or deadlines.
DGS Games sculptors are some of the best in the gaming industry and
include: Chris Jackson, Patrick Keith, Tom Mason, Gene Van Horne and
Gael Goumon. We collaborate with this top caliber talent to bring our
players highly detailed and amazing miniatures. This Creatures of
Faelon kickstarter project will have figures sculpted by Gael Goumon
and Patrick Keith. By backing our project you will enable us to
continue partnering with this talent and make the best products a
gamer could want.
What folks are saying about our miniatures:
"One of the most interesting new sculpts I have seen - I need this!"
- Barbaric Splendor about the Lioness on FaceBook
"I have to admit, out of all the games out there, what
sold me about your[Freeblades] game was the fact everything is made
right here in the good ole US of A. Keep it up! "
- Eddie from Louisiana, on DGS Forums
"Freeblades is a fantastic game - my favorite minis game to date. The miniatures are beautiful, and continue to impress with each release! Every Kickstarter I've backed with DGS has shipped on time (often early), and the staff is great to work with, always ready to help, whether it's a rules question or the rare product issue (mispacked starter set, in our case - resolved in less than an hour)."
- Keith from Fun Factory
"These are the models that get gamers to buy figures for a
game they have yet to discover. Another fantastic model."
- Bryan about the Questing Knight of Sylvia on Facebook

In our exciting and dangerous World of Faelon seventeen glorious factions exist (well I should say announced….could be that we have others in the works….shhhh). Since the release of the Freeblades rulebook in 2012, 8 factions have been released. With Freeblades and our miniatures so well received by gamers, we are accelerating our plans to make and release a collection of creatures and demons. Your backing will allow DGS to expand our product line and greatly increase the speed to market of these models for your enjoyment.
We have so much excitement and great gaming to share. Post your questions here. Join us on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or our own website – www.dgsgames.com.

DGS appreciates your interest and support. We extend a hearty thank you to our fans, customers, partners, retailers, wholesalers and families for all of their help in making DGS Games, the World of Faelon, Freeblades and our miniatures come to life!
All DGS Games miniatures may contain small parts and are not intended for children under the age of 12.
A word on scale and material:
Our 32mm models are cast in white metal (lead free) alloy with the exception of the Ar-Grush which will be a mix of resin and white metal components. They are designed to match favorably in size with what has become known as “28mm heroic scale". Heroic scale models are not just taller than 28mm, they are also aggressively proportioned with large hands, heads, muscles and weapons. Our models are typically as tall as current “28mm” models, but reflect typical anatomical proportions and compare in scale with those by Reaper and other top manufacturers. They are superbly sculpted to allow strong character identification and a fun and rewarding painting surface. Whether used with DGS’s games, in role-playing or any other miniatures experience, our figures will enhance your gaming pleasure.
Shipping Zone Rates:
We tried using flat rate international shipping in the past, but found it simply unfair in 90% of the cases. So in order to try to be more fair, we've broken up the "world" into zones. Please add the appropriate amount to your pledge for the area you live in. If you have any questions please let us know and we will get you an answer.
US - Free Shipping (except where noted)
Mexico/Canada - add $12
United Kingdom - - add $20
Mainland Europe - add $28
Anywhere else - add $40
When selecting an Add-on(s), simply add the cost of the Add-on(s) to your Pledge amount. Details of which Add-on(s) you want will be gathered at the successful completion of the project when you fill out your Kickstarter Survey.

Risks and challenges
The risks to completion are very low. We have successfully completed 3 similar Kickstarter Projects and delivered on time. We have been producing 32mm metal fantasy miniatures for 6 years and are lucky to work with some of the best people in the business. Our experience with the 3 previous Kickstarter projects taught us a lot and we have established realistic timelines for our rewards and project completion. Our collaborating artists, sculptors and casters are proven reliable in their delivery of both concept and timeline. It's always true that something unforeseen can happen, and *that* is where our planning has gone. We have shown we can bring you a model according to our established Kickstarter timeline - what we are doing now is working through all the crazy outlier things that could go wrong and what we would do about them. And more importantly, all the stretch rewards we want to give you when we exceed our goal!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
