the United States and around the world is this…on the one hand is millions of
kids who enjoy playing sports and being active. On the
other are millions of children who don’t participate in sports or fitness for
one reason or another including not believing in themselves. The question is this; is there anyone who can
effectively bridge this gap? The answer
comes in the form of a nine year old boy named Dewey Does.

LAUNCHING THE GAME
The Catch Them If You Can game, levels 1 & 2 are almost complete. Immediate use of the funding will be to complete and launch the first two levels of the 'Catch Them If You Can' game by late April or early May. The launch will initially take place on Facebook and the deweydoes.com website. We are also looking ahead to raise additional funds to complete levels 3, 4 and 5 by mid to late May 2012 and make them available on multiple platforms including iPhones and Androids. Hundreds of thousands of players will have fun earning points to convert into Dewey Dollars to use towards the purchase of wonderful selection of items in the Dewey Store.
By launching the 'Catch Them If You Can' game first it's our goal to offer levels one and two free; build up a following and then release levels 3, 4 and 5 in promotions or to generate income to improve and expand the game and invest into new games for fans all over the world.
WHY DO WE NEED YOUR HELP
The Dewey Does 'Catch Them If You Can' game is designed by both myself and Valerie Jenkins. It is our goal to keep the Dewey Does games simple, engaging, entertaining and educational for all players. By creating and producing the game, as well as keeping much of the work internal, we are able to control the cost to develop it. Peter Newman, president of LIT, and his staff have also been a great help with both the Dewey Does animations and the games, but they are not free.
Building games with character assets and animation takes a lot of time, effort and money. We need help to keep LIT on board, as well as bring on new talent to assist with scripts, character designs, and website development to say the least. Over the past eleven years I have worked tirelessly building the Dewey Does brand mostly from out of pocket as well as some help from friends. I believe the Dewey Does character can and will inspire kids of all ages, from 2 to 92, to eat the right foods and stay fit and active throughout their lives. Promoting 110% Health & fitness is the Dewey Does message from day one.
With your pledge Dewey Does will grow into a
success story that will not only inspire others to dream, work hard and achieve
their goals, but also inspire thousands, maybe even millions of kids all over the world with
his 110% fitness message. Plenty of great incentives will be gained by supporting Dewey Does through this,
including credits, books, logo tee shirts and more! All funds raised will be used towards the Dewey Does game completion and promotion.
THE FUTURE OF DEWEY DOES
Catch Your ABCs - Inspired by our popular Dewey Does ABCs Sports poster, we haven't forgot about our smaller children. Look for the Dewey Does 'Catch Your ABCs' game; will be complete by June with your help. Kids will have fun learning their ABCs along with matching Dewey Does stuff and fun sing along music. Look for updates at Dewey Does' website. The first 1000 new members to sign up for the DD 'Catch Your ABCs' game when launched will receive the Dewey Does ABCs Sports poster, FREE.
Animations - Although we started developing the Dewey Does animations first, we quickly learned that it's more cost effective to develop and launch the games to build brand awareness. After the Dewey Does games are successful, we will complete the animations which are already in the works. With a $5,000 pledge your own game character can appear in any of the below animations. The $25,000 goal is a lot less than what is needed, but it’s enough to
build the first two levels and will set the path towards completing the first
game and launching it. We are certain
you can see our passion in the product; we are the creators, writers, editors, designers and planners and we love what we do but we are now having challenges keeping our current team due to lack of needed funds and we need to bring in new talent with specialty skills.

Keeping the Dewey Does games simple and relevant was our goal from the beginning. Although ideas were presented with more complicated games such as playing baseball, football or soccer against or with Dewey Does, we didn't think it displayed what the DD brand was all about; encouraging our youth to get out and play, be active and always be learning.
