It was great to hear of Carrsie's wedding and your being part of her day. One of my frequently played playlists has a bunch of both of your songs. Never guessed at connection.
Hope you can make it to Philadelphia PA. some time. Check out Tin Angel (club just celebrated 20 yrs.) and WXPN / World Cafe, local alt. station and performance venue.
Looking forward to new music.
peace and love from Phila.
Devon, I want to thank you for this chance. Your songs are melody driven and powerful. The chord progressions build up beautifully towards a harmonic Nirvana. I have only gotten this feeling listening to select tracks by John Lennon, Django Reinhardt, and Jerome Kern. It is rare that I find anyone who can stand against these, my choice composers, but you can, and vibrantly do so. I thank you, not only for the opportunity to support such a musically fluent artist, but for the chance to contribute to the proliferation of songs that breathe like anthems. Your voice is gold, not just the one from which you sing, but also the one that gives your music its soul. I'm on the edge of my seat for your release and find my only regret is that my current finances allowed only three dollars of support. Its not a just amount for the life of music that you're putting forth. If you're any bit as human as most people I know, I sincerely hope that all, if any insecurities in your life are abolished; you are courageous musician, and I can't wait to see as your musical journey extends boldly into the future.
Brilliant Devon! We love you!!
Holy crappers, you guys are incredible! Thanks so much for the lovely comments. Digital mix tape is in the works! Here's to the last 16 hours...
Devon, I have loved your music since you played sidestage at a Dave Matthews show I went to at the Riverfront Amphitheatre in St. Louis in the summer of 1998 (you signed your first record for me, and my shoe!) I am so pleased to see you're still making amazing music and it's my privilege to back your new album.
Hey. I discovered you via The Gregory Brothers. They tweeted about your project. Really great sound, can't wait to get the CD!
I just stumbled upon your project with only 27 hours left to go. So glad I found it in time to back it! Can't wait to hear the new record... roll on September!
Thanks for the clarifications - I'm definitely upping the ante (and may do again).
It's so exciting to see your total mount! I love your music and have sent this to my friends and look forward to hearing your next CD! Why don't you come to St. Louis, MO? Lots of great places to play.
Shuichi -- ha! -- I've thanked Paul for inspiring your pledge with his awesome video. He says hello back! Thank you so much for supporting us.
Bahhaj, your comment and camaraderie really made my day #2. Congrats on the project! The video was so mellow and real but also so inspiring. I'm off to even out your pledge -- grin -- and get some of your lovely music. Hope Chicago is cozy this morning.
Nice video...I like it. That made me put some $ even small...looking forward to get your new record.
Say hey Paul for me...I met him at the parking lot in Wyldwood when you guys played there last June.
Hey, our Kickstarters were both mentioned over at saidthegramophone.com yesterday, and I just checked out yours and really liked what I heard. Would have liked to have been able to contribute more, but I'm really looking forward to getting your record! Good luck with it!
Yeah! Mike's newest record Wild Lines is so good. Have you heard it, Marcus? I'm still so excited just by the fact that I'm working with him. The writing has been a blast. xo
So cool that you're doing this with Mike! I loved that low-key karaoke! You met him over the youtubes? Amazing.
