The End of One Adventure, the Start of Another...

Dear newfound friends,

First of all, we want to give our sincerest thanks to all of you who believed in our project. Our campaign is at an end, and alas, we were a smidge short of our goal, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love each and every one of you misfits.

But the show is far from over! We’ve learned a hell of a lot over the last 30 days, and we’ve found that, despite our campaign being the little engine that couldn’t, we still have quite a support system through social media, fellow designers, and new friends. We’ve gone to conventions, visited gaming stores, and played at parties with people we don’t know and probably offended horribly, and we learned from all of it.

In fact, we learned that most of all, the term “party game” tends to carry some stigma among the tabletop community. We have found though, that everyone who plays our game, loves our game and outside of going door to door, that is a tough obstacle to overcome.

To that end, we have decided that Epic Picnic will live on. We are in the preliminary phase of developing a “lite version” of the game to release in a POD (Print-On-Demand) format that we expect to be readily available through an online retailer (to be determined) in the beginning of 2014.

As always, we’ll keep our faithful backers up to date through posting on Facebook and other outlets as we move forward with this new plan.

But wait, there’s more!! As promised in our update yesterday, all of our backers will still receive a special gift for you support: the full Print-N-Play version of Epic Picnic! We’ll be delivering it via email within the next week, so keep an eye out for a survey in the very near future. (We’ll be using that to gather feedback on what format you would prefer)

Print it out on some card stock, cut it up (we’ll apologize in advance, we know what a pain in the ass that is), and play it with your grandma! Once you’ve played it, come drop us a line on Facebook. Tell us how you’ve been, who you’ve corrupted and what you and your friends think about the game. Whether you found it a little amusing, or developed bleeding stomach ulcers from laughing so hard, we want to hear it!

We will miss you all terribly, but rest assured we will be back and in the mean time, we will keep you up to date on Epic Picnic and all our other endeavors.

Thank you again!!
