EVERY DONATION COUNTS
The biggest challenge in creating this short film and other shorts films is being able to reward talented artist for their time fairly. All donations in ANY amount will truly help to get this production moving forward. I am counting on my friends, friends of friends, co-workers, acquaintances, fellow creatives and strangers and lovers of film and lovers of art, for any monetary amount you can give toward this project. I’m looking for your support of $1,500 or MORE to complete Over and Under and Through. The $1,500 will cover, set design and construction for the second half of the film, funds to hire a composer and funds to hire a digital artist and operation costs at a local Drive-In for the premiere. In order to make this film the best it can be I need help from talented artist who excel in their field. Whatever amount is raised I will make this film, but I need YOUR GENEROSITY in order to make it the best it can be! With the love and support of the “grape vine” please spread the word about this project and about OVER AND UNDER AND THROUGH.
Over and Under and Through is an experimental short film, yes I think I made up the genre, on the most basic level this is a coming of age film about a girl who seems out of place in what should be considered home. Her passive confrontations lead her beyond the home and into a world where she must face who she is in a surprisingly dark way.
The first half of the film has already been shot and above you viewed excerpts in the form of a trailer.
The film will hover between the genres of experimental and narrative short film but it will be neither. Our main character and the people she faces interact intuitively utilizing mostly bodies and faces –rarely do they speak to one another but when they do it is important to read between the lines. Our female character moves through the first half of the film being judged and positioned as an outsider while she grows aware of other’s gaze and the gaze she has for a select few. Overwhelming, there are small vignettes associated with the roles of the female in American society. These vignettes run parallel and butt up to one another as we move through the film. She sees a mirror of herself in these roles but never fits quite right.
The second half of the film which YOU are supporting has not been shot yet. As our main character matures out of the house she enters a separate space that seems part real and part dreamlike. In this space, she will no longer be passive but must choose her path in order to discover her self. In a space that’s foundation is wilderness she will have to look to her root instincts which may collide against the others in the wild.
I am finishing up my Masters of Fine Arts degree at the University of South Florida in May of this year! I have only been working in film in video for the past 2 years but have fallen hard for it. I love what I do. This film Over and Under and Through is the culmination of what I’ve learned and what I can accomplish thus far. I know that this film is just a stepping stone to my future but with ambition and friends like mine I want it to rival the quality and ambition of other films out there. I am dedicated to this work and I hope that you can see the potential in this project and in me.
HOW I WILL GET THIS FILM COMPLETED
The first half of the film was shot in December 2012 after months and months of planning. I, Desiree Moore, work as the writer, director, director of photography, producer, set designer, costumes designer, casting, and location scout. My number 2 is Kirsten Austin, a wonderfully dedicated assistant currently studying at the University of South Florida who wears just as many hats as I do. She works with me on everything around the clock. I have a wonderful group of friends that sign on as crew and work from dusk to dusk as long a pizza is provided. Also, my wonderful cast includes dedicated actresses and actors currently located out of Florida. I am lucky to have Tristan Whitehill locked in as my composer once again. He is talented Floridian that invests his talent into the visual landscape I’ve created in my film. I will also have a digital artist on board but the stars have not aligned just yet for my perfect partner. Please see the list below for specifics mentions of all the talented people associated with this film.
Katrinna Wallace, Morgan Middlebrook, Sydney Rhoads, Sophie Rhoads, Jena Reback, Megan Brown, Raquel Trinidad, Kali J. Grunnet, Allie Madison, Chalice Mitchell, Pat Largo, Wilhelmenia Ford, Alla Grach, Nydia Monarrez, and Corbett Fogue

MONEY, MONEY, MONEY
Film making as I’m learning is not an easy feat. May people and resources are needed to make a film of high quality. Everyone is working on this project for free or I should say for pizza.
Your generosity will contribute to the following necessary pieces to this film puzzle:
EQUIPMENT RENTAL-mostly lenses, but not limited to lighting
DIY EQUIPMENT CONSTRUCTION- a camera dolly including a round track
SET CONSTRUCTION-paint and supplies, misc art supplies, wood, props
PIZZA/FOOD/DRINKS-for my cast and crew
ARTIST FEES- Composer and Digital Artist
OPERATION COSTS-For the screening at a "in real life" drive-in
DVD COPIES, FESTIVAL FEES, AND KICKSTARTER REWARDS
That's all Folks! Thanks in advance for you time, interest and generosity!!!
Risks and challenges
Luckily this portion of the film takes place in a controlled environment that I have 24 hour access to-so no worries with weather. I will arrange two solid days for shooting this project but we will also have 3 to 4 additional days on the schedule if we need to re-conceptualize a scene, or if we lose actors/actress due to other obligations. The biggest challenge will be convincing the local Drive-In Theater to show the film on their big screen but I have a pitch lined up that would be hard to refuse.
