The Good Night Lamp is a family of internet-connected lamps. Turn the Big Lamp on and the Little Lamps turn on wherever they are.
This project's funding goal was not reached on February 6, 2013.
Use this space to cheer the creator along, ask questions, and talk to your fellow backers. Please remember to be respectful and considerate. Thanks!
We've shipped our first batch to UK & EU customers! Check out the latest news on www.twitter.com/GNLamp
This is only the beginning... but still sad to see it didn't fully fund.
I didn't back as much as I wanted to, but once it launches, I will definitely make a couple of buys!
I really like this idea, and I hope you can reach the funding you need at this late stage; I've tried to help out as much as I can.
I've backed this for the T-shirt but I'm not sure I'd want the 1.0 product. Unless I've misunderstood it seems it's completely one-way unless you have more than one set - you can't let someone know you've seen their signal. I know you need to keep it simple but some kind of acknowledgement capability would seem natural. What about upstairs/downstairs lights?
Market this to expat families!!! They would LOVE it. And there's millions of them around the globe. I've told some of them about it here: http://bit.ly/1173QL7 But you can tweet to #expats and get on forums and the hundreds of expat blogs as well. Good luck with it!!
I really love this idea! It's beautiful.
I'm glad to know, from the last update, that this project won't stop here! :-D
Good luck for this wonderful project!
Thanks for your support!
I just love it!!! Shared this great idea and hope you will get more backers!
Keeping fingers crossed!
I'm totally in love with this project, I really really hope you reach your goal!
Not only the offer but also a post on MakeTank http://maketank.it/2013/01/alexandra-deschamps-sonsino-goodnight-lamp-2/ and on our FanPage www.facebook.com/maketank to increase the buzz on your project, both romantic and technological, in the Italian market. Good luck!
perfect! Great to hear about your endeavors! And you surely deserved your weekend! :)
All the best from snowy Hamburg.
Just posted an updated! Been on a plane :)

Beautifully designed and a really original and nice idea. Come on Kickstarters, keep pledging to get this across the finish line!
Dear Good Night Lamp Team,
what about an Update (within "Updates"-Section) every once in a while? Would be great hearing from you while the funding is still running. I so much want this project to get real. Are you doing any efforts to bring out the news about it. Yep, there is your Facebook page, but it won't harm to let the people here know about what's going on.
Sorry to to be pushy. Consider it is my admiration for your idea. That's what it is! :)
MakeTank proudly backed this great project... in the hope to sell it soon on its marketplace :-)
Good luck from Florence (Italy)
Yes you can tether on as many Little Lamps as you like or send out as many Little Lamps as you like that connect to the Big Lamp.
Is it possible to connect several lamps together, so that you have more than two?
Hey Alex. Glad I got to meet you in Dolores Park yesterday. Best of luck with the campaign! Rod.
Way to go Alex! We will leave one half of the Lamp at Julie's parents in Shanghai :-)
Hi Ben! Thanks a lot, we're really hoping this will be successful!
Oh I'm delighted this is going to happen! I remember you talking about this at Next Berlin last year.
Here's to a successful project, looking forward to tracking your journey.
what a lovely idea - here's to the target being reached!
We're the 100th backer :-)
Congratulations for this awesome product!

Interesting concept. I am not sure I have a use for it and it feels a bit femanin to me but I do like it :)
What if I forget to turn off or on my big lamp? Is there an app for that?
Good luck with everything.
Fantastic work, fantastic team! Really can't wait to get our Lamp for the studio and see how this project evolves!
Best of luck!
Thanks for your feedback, it's great that you would want to be able to support us more. At this very moment (12h into the campaign) we're really keen to be able to concentrate on Sets that we know we can fulfill on time and then be able to easily sell additional Little Lamps pretty much straight away. We'll ask KS if they have a problem with a bigger "family" of devices as what Pebble did isn't allowed anymore (http://www.kickstarter.com/blog/kickstarter-is-not-a-store). Will come back to you about that.
As to the Power House, of course it will be shipped as part of a set :)
Good luck from me also - happy to join in early.
I too have a family group spread across the world and it would be great to have additional sets - but am surprised by the talk about the Kickstarter rules - as a backer of several projects over quite some time, it seems normal for people to do just that in one of two ways:
(1) ask to increase their pledge by £x for every additional thing they want (as an example I've been watching aghast at some project called Kingdom Death: Monster and can see that they are asking people to pledge for their starter kit and then whatever they want extra, sorting it all out via a survey at the end - bit of an extreme example, but... 5400 backers at $155 doesn't equal $2 million, so a lot of additional pledging went on),
or else (2) to provide more options so there may be a separate pledge level for those of us that might like 1 big + 2 small, etc. Take a look at the Pebble pledge list and there are loads of multiple options.
I'll be the first to admit that I've not read the rules, I've no idea if the UK site has different rules to the US - or indeed these other guys have broken them ;-) - but it would be great to see if there is something else you could do to let those of us who could buy into the idea REALLY buy into the idea.
Fingers crossed, good luck at CES.
Also, while I'm avoiding work, I see on your site reference to a PowerHouse - no plans to include those yet?:
Thanks so much for your feedback. As per Kickstarter's rules, we can't offer multiples of the product, so have stayed with a Set. However, the plan is to be in a position to sell individual units and multiple Little Lamps after we've fulfilled our rewards because we'll have set up production to do so.
Easiest thing to get a t-shirt would be pledged again! Faffy I know, but we'll make sure things are fulfilled once and you don't get 2 packages.
As for the email, so sorry! Will have a look and resend.
(Not nitpicky at all!)
Good luck with this, it's a brilliant idea, and I've been watching it closely... Few comments (Hopefully being helpful and not nitpicky)
The link in your email to the Kickstarter page comes up with a 404 page, might want to send out another email.
Would be nice if you could back and buy more than one unit, as then you can give someone the other one as a gift so extra useful...
Shame that the highest backed pledge doesn't get a T-shirt even if you added £20 to it... or do we just need to pledge again?
So exciting to see this lovely thing becoming a reality :) Delighted to pledge, and best of luck reaching the goal!
Thanks Frankie for your support! A.
Only too happy to support this product. Good luck with getting the full funding!
