Splash Resistant Type 40: If you moved, please let me know + Some Type 46 developments...finally
I hope everyone is having a great summer so far!
The water resistant Type 40s for the Kickstarter backers will ship this week (the actual definition from now of is "splash resistant" since the watch is not afraid of water anymore but it is not recommended to swim or shower with it)! Therefore, if you moved since you confirmed your address please let me know. Otherwise, the watch will be shipped to the last confirmed address. Next and final step for the Type 40: post-kickstarter splash resistant Type 40s.
Something really sweet rolled in this week: a Type 46 stainless steel casing with black PVD finish. This is machined from a solid block of stainless steel and will become the standard for the Type 46 (like discussed before, sterling silver casings remain available). This is something that has been in the making for a while and this second iteration starts to look like the real deal. I'm planning a third iteration before reaching pre-production status, but this will give me something new to play with along with the new CNC machined aluminum skeleton (that part inside the casing on the picture that will hold the mechanical and electrical components)...but...I need to wrap Type 40 production first.
