      Hi Gabriel,
Just got mine. (Missed delivery on Friday....)
Looks awesome. Had a little difficulty setting the time (needed to read the manual more thoroughly).
Going to try it out tomorrow.
Did I say it looks awesome!
Thank you and best of luck with the Type 46.

    7. Parisri on

      Received the today, Great watch.
      Thank you.

@ Zuber Bux - Thanks for the kind feedback! This means shipping from Canada to UK is 5 weeks (Mr. Bux's watch was part of the very first shipment)...Canada Post ain't lying when they say 4 to 6 weeks :)

A quick message to all the UK backers of the Type 40. I received the watch today. Looks great. Love it! Works a charm and was easy to set up.

      Congrats to Gabriel.

Looking forward to the Type 46 now!

Thanks for the info. I had figured out both methods you have mentioned.
I have had a lot of compliments on the watch in the two days I have had it. Thanks again.

    11. Division Furtive Creator on

@Rod - Thanks for your feedback. I give you that, I must work on this aspect of the design in the future.

In the dark, what I usually do is to wrap my (other) hand around the dial. This serves as a reflector to illuminate the dial...the golden text shines easily.

Another solution (which is analogous to traditional watches with phosphor markers...but with new scales to get used to) is to count the number of "off" LEDs (they are visible because the "on" LED illuminates them). This is easy if you know the scales (12, 1, 2, etc. on top and 0, 5, 10, etc. on the bottom) and the "on" LED is not too far from one end or another. If the "on" LED is near the middle it's trickier, so there are half-circular notches right in the middle of the top (between 5 and 6) and bottom (at 30) LED displays to help you find the middle and thus start counting from there.

      Hope this helps.

Watch arrived today. Easy to program and use. A bit hard to see the time in the dark.
Watch is well made and a great size.
Congratulations on a job well done.

@ Rod - Mailing non water resistant £140 rewards today. For Toronto, you should get it by the middle of next week.

Any idea when mine will ship and how long it takes to reach Toronto?

    16. Division Furtive Creator on

I mean, 50% of watches shipped...depending where you're located it can take as long as 6 weeks to reach you if you did not opt-in for accelerated shipping.

    17. Division Furtive Creator on

@ Keith Gehrke - You're too kind. I've said it before, it takes great backers to make a great project. I'm confident I have the best backers, so I only did my part so far, and it's not over...only 50% of the backers have received their watch.

    18. Keith Gehrke on

Received the watch today! First noticed the wonderful packaging. Watching the video on the site to help with initial programming was really helpful. The quality of the watch is stunning. Really fun to use. My favorite Kickstarter project so far! Well done!

    19. Parisri on

I change my mind, I'll pay for accerelate shipping.

    20. Division Furtive Creator on

@Parisri - The big question :) Update #20 pushed the date at the end of May but I think somewhere in June would be a safer assumption. I think 4 weeks to make 300+ watches by hand is optimistic, that is why I'm opening the door for June, I'm really sorry about the delays.

The good news is that the assembled circuit boards have been shipped and I should get them tomorrow (Friday, May 2nd)...can't wait to see production quantities of the core component of the Type 40! I'll make an update at this regard next week.

    21. Parisri on

Any news about shipping date (Type 40) ?
      Thank you.

@ Bert Nieuwenhuizen - Thanks, this is very kind of you.

Please take your time. Better a good watch later then a bad watch soon.

    24. Division Furtive Creator on

@ Rami Wassaf - Still shooting to start shipping end of April. There is a two-week delay with printed circuit board fabrication so production can theoretically only start next week. These two weeks were the margin of speed bump will directly impact the estimate above :(

    25. Rami (Random Solutions sal) on

Any news about the expected final delivery??

    26. Division Furtive Creator on

@ David -That's a valid concern and the app part of the road map. But apps are not future proof neither and at some extend they require more maintenance so this is why the web-oriented solution was the best to start with. That being said, even if Division Furtive was to shut down, I would have a few timepieces of my own that I would still want to set so I'm comitted to keep a working solution (either the current one or a offline version)!

    27. David Vo on

Hi, great progress. I am not sure if this has been covered but would you consider releasing a mobile app (Android and iPhone) or desktop app that will allow owners to set the watch separate from the website? I hope you are in business for the long run, but I don't want to deal with you deciding to shut down 3 years from now and I am stuck with an expensive paperweight.

    28. Division Furtive Creator on

@ Steve Wang - Thanks for asking. So far so good but nothing worth doing an update about. I'm still gathering last parts to start production. The design phase is pretty much over (a few tweaks here and there), which is a very good news.

    29. Division Furtive Creator on

@Zuber Bux - Currently the design is only "water resistant". I'm shooting for waterproof but I have to validate this experimentally so it's too early to comment. I bought the waterproof testing machine, I think that's a good first step toward this certification :)

@Benjamin Berkman - Current estimate is April, see update #15 for details. Congrats on posting comment #46 :)

    32. Division Furtive Creator on

@ Claude - Je porte ce nouveau fermoir-papillon depuis une semaine et j'ai absolument rien à redire (je vous ai envoyé une facture Paypal au courriel associé à votre compte Kickstarter).

"I'll take one butterfly clasp if the quality is good" >> I've been wearing the new clasp for one week and I'm perfectly happy with it...therefore I believe the quality is very good.

Je vais prendre votre fermoir-papillon si il est de très bonne qualité. Merci

    36. Division Furtive Creator on

@Guillermo - Only 25% of the 1000 units sold, so it is most likely there will be some Type 40 watches available after the Kickstarter campaign :)

    37. Missing avatar

      Guillermo Villalobos on

Oh that seems alright I was worried that I would have to thrust the watch to my face to get it to tell the time.
Looking forward to the watch may not be able to continue with my pledge though so I hope we are able to buy one after the kickstarter

    38. Division Furtive Creator on

@Guillermo - Thanks for the kind words! By "Day initials" do you mean D L M M J V S? If so, note there also English day initials on the upper part of the top cursor/display: S M T W T F S. You need to rotate your wrist because taps could easily be false triggers.

Rotating your wrist toward you if not something that is very natural for anything else than watching time, that is why I've used this gesture to trigger time display. That being said, I've found that turning the steering wheel of my car and scratching the back of my hand with my left hand can also trigger time display :)

    39. Missing avatar

      Guillermo Villalobos on

Hey so, with the day initials on the watch will they always be in French?
Also to tell the time do I have to lift my wrist to my face or can I tap it or is there something else?
Watch looks amazing by the way

    40. Division Furtive Creator on

@Claude: Autant que j'aimerais que ce soit possible, le volume/prix actuel ne permet pas ce genre d'extra.

Q: Would it be possible to have an aluminum casing for the Type 40
A: As must as would like this, the actual volume/cost does not allow it.

      Claude on

J'aimerais savoir si on pourra avoir le type 40 avec la monture comme le type 46 en alluminium moyennent un surplus? Se serais un bon retour pour les premiers investisseurs pour votre beau projet. Quand penséz-vous?

    42. Division Furtive Creator on

@Nicolas - Thanks for your feedback. Right now plan is for a regular watch box for Type 40. I'm contemplating the idea of offering the safe box as an extra. With wristband model C you have ±3 mm of adjustment. You can always make it shorter but not longer :)

    43. Missing avatar

      Nicolas Simard on

If there is a safe box already, what would be the purpose of adding 20£ ? Nicer box ? And if the wrist C is either too short or too long, is it difficult to change later ? Thank you

    44. Division Furtive Creator on

@Sammi - It's a very neat piano finish box with black leather interior (white Division Furtive logo on top and embossed logo on the interior leather). Can't wait to receive the first samples!

    45. Sammi Khayer on

I initially thought the watch would be delivered in some sort of simple transport wrapping/box only. If so, I would gladly add an extra 20£ for a special casing like the safe box. What does the standard box look like? Potentially it could be awesome enough :)

    46. Division Furtive Creator on

@ Sammi - I've made inquires and it does not look good for the safe box (too expensive). Would people be willing to pay extra for this option? It would be about 20£. I've order samples of the standard box for the Type 40. I should be getting the samples with logo and everything in two weeks.

    47. Division Furtive Creator on

@ Claude - Merci! Par contre Kickstarter est une plateforme anglophone. Toute l'info sur le site web et la page Facebook de Division Furtive est disponible en français.

I'm in for wristband C. Je suis pour le brasselet C qui est beaucoup plus beau a mon avis.

COMMENTAIRE GARRETT Love the idea. Wish I could swing the type 46, way to far out of my price range. Why is the movement motor so expensive?garrett gourley Would love to see the 40 housing made out of aluminum and the backs be a plastic like the type 46. I would even pay extra to have the case the type 46 came in. (TRÈS BONNE IDÉE ET LE SITE AVEC UNE OPTION EN FRANÇAIS SERAIS AUSSI UNE BONNE IDÉE CAR J'AI QUAND MÊME ENCOURAGÉ UN PRODUIT QUÉBECOIS MERCI)
