just received my type 40, awesome.
Any malaysian received their type 40 yet?
@Michael Lu - It has been shipped on Aug 1st. Shipping to Malaysia is very sluggish so please let us know when you receive your watch.
Malaysia water resistant not received yet.
@Rahul Garg & Wei Jen Seah - Thanks for taking the time to post feedback!
I got mine today.. It fabulous.. love it :)
Gabriel, received in Singapore, it looks absolutely gorgeous!
@Wei Jen Seah - Yes, it has been shipped on Aug 1st. Shipping to Singapore is very sluggish so please let us know when you receive you watch.
Quick question from another Singapore backer, any idea when mine was shipped? I guess if mine was shipped Aug 1 or later, I should be expecting it this month only?
@Sammi Khayer - Thanks for the feedback and suggestions! If you are interested in getting the waterproofing treatment, this is something that I can do free of charge if you return your watch. You can send me a PM via Division Furtive's website or Kickstarter mailing system.
I've got a small collection of watches. But none of them come even close to generating as many questions as the Type 40. Even random people comment on it and want to know the story behind it :)
I regret that I didn't wait for the water resistant version. I've had to dry it one time after wearing it on a rainy day. Also the double-tap to get to time setting has been responding so and so.
But still... It's awesome. Thanks!
Hi Rahul, I've received many updates from people in Singapore finally receiving their watch...it's just longer than anywhere else (10-12 weeks seems to be the standard delay...I assume customs are backed up for some reason). Yours was shipping on Aug. 1st so I would not be surprised you have to wait until October. Sorry this takes so long but this is out of my control. Please let us know when you finally get your watch.
Hi Gabriel, Any update for Singapore...
@ Robin Kjeld - Thanks for letting us know! Faroe Islands officially got its first (and currently only) Division Furtive collector!
Greetings Gabriel, I got mine today, in Faroe Islands. Looks very nice! Thanks.
@ Nathan & Steve Wang - Thanks for taking the time to let us know, this is very appreciated.
Mine just arrived in UK, type 40 with water resistance, looks great!
Just got mine. (Missed delivery on Friday....)
Looks awesome. Had a little difficulty setting the time (needed to read the manual more thoroughly).
Going to try it out tomorrow.
Did I say it looks awesome!
Thank you and best of luck with the Type 46.
@ GanjaBaby & Parisri - Thanks for the feedback! Appreciated.
I received the watch today Aug 3 and it's awesome!!! Thanks for running the best KICKSTARTER project period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Received the today, Great watch.
@ Zuber Bux - Thanks for the kind feedback! This means shipping from Canada to UK is 5 weeks (Mr. Bux's watch was part of the very first shipment)...Canada Post ain't lying when they say 4 to 6 weeks :)
A quick message to all the UK backers of the Type 40. I received the watch today. Looks great. Love it! Works a charm and was easy to set up.
Congrats to Gabriel.
Looking forward to the Type 46 now!
Thanks for the info. I had figured out both methods you have mentioned.
I have had a lot of compliments on the watch in the two days I have had it. Thanks again.
@Rod - Thanks for your feedback. I give you that, I must work on this aspect of the design in the future.
In the dark, what I usually do is to wrap my (other) hand around the dial. This serves as a reflector to illuminate the dial...the golden text shines easily.
Another solution (which is analogous to traditional watches with phosphor markers...but with new scales to get used to) is to count the number of "off" LEDs (they are visible because the "on" LED illuminates them). This is easy if you know the scales (12, 1, 2, etc. on top and 0, 5, 10, etc. on the bottom) and the "on" LED is not too far from one end or another. If the "on" LED is near the middle it's trickier, so there are half-circular notches right in the middle of the top (between 5 and 6) and bottom (at 30) LED displays to help you find the middle and thus start counting from there.
Hope this helps.
Watch arrived today. Easy to program and use. A bit hard to see the time in the dark.
Watch is well made and a great size.
Congratulations on a job well done.
@ Rod - Mailing non water resistant £140 rewards today. For Toronto, you should get it by the middle of next week.
Sorry 140 pledge level.
Any idea when mine will ship and how long it takes to reach Toronto?
I mean, 50% of watches shipped...depending where you're located it can take as long as 6 weeks to reach you if you did not opt-in for accelerated shipping.
@ Keith Gehrke - You're too kind. I've said it before, it takes great backers to make a great project. I'm confident I have the best backers, so I only did my part so far, and it's not over...only 50% of the backers have received their watch.
Received the watch today! First noticed the wonderful packaging. Watching the video on the site to help with initial programming was really helpful. The quality of the watch is stunning. Really fun to use. My favorite Kickstarter project so far! Well done!
I change my mind, I'll pay for accerelate shipping.
@Parisri - The big question :) Update #20 pushed the date at the end of May but I think somewhere in June would be a safer assumption. I think 4 weeks to make 300+ watches by hand is optimistic, that is why I'm opening the door for June, I'm really sorry about the delays.
The good news is that the assembled circuit boards have been shipped and I should get them tomorrow (Friday, May 2nd)...can't wait to see production quantities of the core component of the Type 40! I'll make an update at this regard next week.
Any news about shipping date (Type 40) ?
@ Bert Nieuwenhuizen - Thanks, this is very kind of you.
Please take your time. Better a good watch later then a bad watch soon.
@ Rami Wassaf - Still shooting to start shipping end of April. There is a two-week delay with printed circuit board fabrication so production can theoretically only start next week. These two weeks were the margin of safety...next speed bump will directly impact the estimate above :(
Any news about the expected final delivery??
@ David -That's a valid concern and the app part of the road map. But apps are not future proof neither and at some extend they require more maintenance so this is why the web-oriented solution was the best to start with. That being said, even if Division Furtive was to shut down, I would have a few timepieces of my own that I would still want to set so I'm comitted to keep a working solution (either the current one or a offline version)!
Hi, great progress. I am not sure if this has been covered but would you consider releasing a mobile app (Android and iPhone) or desktop app that will allow owners to set the watch separate from the website? I hope you are in business for the long run, but I don't want to deal with you deciding to shut down 3 years from now and I am stuck with an expensive paperweight.
@ Steve Wang - Thanks for asking. So far so good but nothing worth doing an update about. I'm still gathering last parts to start production. The design phase is pretty much over (a few tweaks here and there), which is a very good news.
Hi any news?
@Zuber Bux - Currently the design is only "water resistant". I'm shooting for waterproof but I have to validate this experimentally so it's too early to comment. I bought the waterproof testing machine, I think that's a good first step toward this certification :)
@Benjamin Berkman - Current estimate is April, see update #15 for details. Congrats on posting comment #46 :)
Any info on when the type 40 will ship?
Quick question. Will the Type 40 or 46 be waterproof?
@ Sebastian Remollo Friedemann - Wow, that was fast(ish)...Canada Post isn't usually that good :)
Thanks, and greetings from Spain.
@ Claude - Je porte ce nouveau fermoir-papillon depuis une semaine et j'ai absolument rien à redire (je vous ai envoyé une facture Paypal au courriel associé à votre compte Kickstarter).
"I'll take one butterfly clasp if the quality is good" >> I've been wearing the new clasp for one week and I'm perfectly happy with it...therefore I believe the quality is very good.
Je vais prendre votre fermoir-papillon si il est de très bonne qualité. Merci
