Honoring our promises!

 Hello Descenters !

The long, long...loooooonnnnnnnggggg wait is about over. :)

As we promised last year, you will soon be getting your hands on the reimagined Descent! Very soon, our friends at Little Orbit will announce a couple of releases - a PC Beta and a full Retail Release that includes console versions.

Anyone who got a copy of Descent: Underground during our Kickstarter or Early Access will have access to the PC Beta and receive the Retail Release. Because you believed in this project from the beginning, you will also be eligible for any PC pre-order rewards advertised by Little Orbit.

If you have not yet redeemed your Kickstarter rewards, it is very important that you do so in the next few weeks.

Here is the link to collect your rewards:

Your backer number is located in your Kickstarter account here

If you click the blue + (plus-sign) button to the right of Descent: Underground, your backer number will appear at the bottom of the pop-up window. We ask for your backer number to help make sure no one else can claim your rewards.

We are also getting ready to finalize our list of names for the game credits, so we need you to update your profile on our site by the end of the month. At the bottom of your profile screen is a “Name for Credits” field to help us know how you want to be identified in the credits:

We began this project in open development with you, the gamers. We intend to complete it in open development, too.

Later this month, we will invite Alpha backers, then Beta backers, to a special Kickstarter testing window to help us further refine the game and make it shine. This will then lead into the PC Beta, which will be open to anyone who got the desktop version before the Retail Release.

These testing windows have important jobs to do. In each one, we will ask you to try out and give feedback on different aspects of the game, including the single-player campaign. Your feedback will inform our work to polish and refine the Descent experience ahead of our Retail Release.

We are conducting the Kickstarter testing sessions at

As we resume open development, you will also see more communications from us.

Make sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to stay up to date on the latest Descent news!

Thank you for your support- we look forward to launching this new era of Descent together!

Thanks for your support, and PATIENCE!

Time to heat it up!

Hello Descenters!!!!

Thank you all so much, the journey and wait is about over.

We have been a bit quiet, but it is time for that to end, and for the countdown to begin. Thanks to Little Orbit joining us in this endeavor we have been able to make the game bigger and better than we'd ever hoped.

A full story based single player campaign with progression, tech trees, unlocks, and all your favorite 6 Dof, bot smashing, core crushing, tri-chording fun.  Not to mention mulitplayer, co-op, survival, upgrades, ship customization, and tons of replayability.

Soon you will be able to play Descent on XBox1, Playstation 4, PC, Mac, and Linux, look for an announcement on that date from our partners at Little Orbit in the near future.

It has been a labor of love for the development team, and for that we are grateful to you guys for trusting us to bring Descent back, we hope you like it.

Final elements we are working on:

Single player being balanced, Localization is going in for EFIGS, All voice acting recorded and in the game with some actors you just might recognize.

We are in the home stretch - on this amazing journey - can't wait to get it into your hands.

See you in the mines, and....

Solar Warden needs our help!

Posted by Descendent Studios (Creator)

Hello fellow Descenters!

We have some friends that are doing a pretty cool Six Dof game that needs our support.

Solar Warden is done by some friends of ours, and as we support all SIx Dof games, we think they deserve a shot to make their game for us as well.

So, please check out their Kickstarter here:

And if you like it, join up.

As for us, we are in the final stages of mission balancing - and making sure that we have those water cooler or WOW moments in them all.

While the journey has been crazy, we think you will love the results, look for a simultanious ship this fall.

All the best,

Ships, ships and more ships. oh my!

 Hello Descenters!

Fasten your seatbelts,

We’re going to talk about ships! Those of you who were with us during the Kickstarter might remember that giving ships an upgrade path with tech trees and stuff was part of our initial plan. We had always intended to add new player ships that you could unlock after fully upgrading your current ships, too.

For instance, something like a next-generation Typhoon ("Hurricane?") once you unlocked all the Typhoon's tech tree items. During our early access playtesting though, we realized that we weren't doing a good enough job teaching new players the fundamentals of the game. Even with a tutorial mission and "Meet The Ships", there was just too steep of a learning curve right out of the gate. To address this, we added ships of earlier generations that are unlocked before the current ships. This lets new players focus just on flying and shooting basic weapons before worrying about more advanced stuff like tools, gadgets, and team roles.

With our new matchmaking system, we'll also be better able to match players based not just on skill, but where they are in that learning process- based on what they’ve unlocked. Of course, if you have specific ships as rewards from the Kickstarter or crowdfunding, you'll be able to unlock your reward ships right away.

So, without further ado - here is our ship tree. Read from Top to bottom for unlock patterns.

In addition we also showed off some of the new Single player maps in our WMH play test today.

The SP map preview comes between the games we are playing.

Thanks for your continued support.
