Who Are We?
High Level Games is a newer media company creating table-top gaming journalism, table-top gaming products, podcasts, and now a convention in Atlantic City in October 12-14 2018.
Why a Convention?
HLG wants to create a positive growth orientated environment for new gamers, gamers of many years, and creators. We want to get folks that have invested time in making great games to help new creators grow. We want to host an atmosphere of inclusion and diversity with the goal of ensuring our hobby is open to all gamers, regardless of background or of game interest.
We are raising funds to help us take this convention to the next level. We've got the space and we've got great events happening but we think we can make them even better with some support and sponsorship from the community. One of the main reasons we are running this Kickstarter is that we have to rent some of our own tables for the event, and we want to ensure we have enough to host all the wonderful folks we are having attend!
What will my money do?
The funds for this Kickstarter will go toward props for the Larps, marketing for the event as a whole (which is why we've focused on sponsorship and promotion tiers for most rewards), and for ensuring we have things to help our GMs run their games (cough drops, water, paper and pencils, and other items). We also are hoping to raise funds to host an industry mixer event with food and drinks for folks.
Stretch Goal #1
This stretch goal will fund the creation of a book hoard. One participant at the convention will be gifted with the books to show appreciation for the way they assisted the event and participants. Books may include, Pugmire, Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition, Monsterhearts 2, Dungeons and Dragons Player's Handbook 5th Edition, and more.
The Space: Showboat Hotel Atlantic City
An icon on the Boardwalk for 21 years, the Showboat Atlantic City is back and better than ever. This much-loved landmark hotel welcomes a new generation of visitors (and their furry friends) with 872 spacious guest rooms and suites, delicious dining in three Showboat AC restaurants, and easy access to Atlantic City’s best attractions, world-class casinos, local wineries and must-see sights
What is Happening at HLG Con?
We are running Pandaemonium, which is a joint effort by several Larp studios to bring an amazing Blockbuster Larp event to our convention. We've got studios like Dziobak, The Geek Initiative, Hanging Lantern, Sinking Ship Creations, Reverie, Peculiar Crossroads, and Event Horizon all joining forces.
Our Table-Top Events are going to be run by Max Energy Games. They will be hosting games on-demand and we'll have other table-top experiences during the event.
The Game Theater is Bringing their Mega-Game Night Falls
And we'll be running the Blood and Betrayal Chronicle with Winding Path Initiative.
Table-top games planned include but are not limited to Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, Pathfinder 2nd Edition Playtests, Deadlands, Dread, FATE, Orun (By New Agenda Publishing), Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition, Changeling: The Dreaming, and more!
We'll also have Chris Spivey running Harlem Unbound!
This is just the start of great events we'll be hosting at HLG Con. Come join with us and make it Level Up!

Risks and challenges
One of the biggest challenges with running a convention is securing space, which is something we have already made happen. Our hotel is awesome and it gives us a lot of space to build a fantastic and powerful event. We don't have to run this Kickstarter, but it is going to give us some extra capital to make things even cooler than they would be otherwise. The Kickstarter runners have created pamphlets and other printed material in the past for other creations so are capable of developing and delivering on the rewards.
This is our first Kickstarter as a company though, so we recognize there may be things we'll learn as we proceed. We are happy to update folks throughout the process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
