Dearest Friends,

My Kickstarter campaign is now complete, and I can barely find words to express how I feel.

It was YOU who helped me reach my goal.   I think there is a need to create a whole new set of words reserved for special occasions like this, because an ordinary "thank you" seems too dull and inadequate to express the level of gratitude and honor I am so overwhelmed with.

Your generosity and your belief in me is a solid, concrete platform of support and strength for me to move forward.

Working on this collection is that much more exciting now, knowing that by your contributions, you have made yourself part of my success.

I love you, and I am endlessly grateful.

Another Grand (Re)turn of Leonid Gurevich

This spring big fashion dreams come true in a way befitting a city itself a product of one man’s grand vision! DEPESHA magazine is presenting the American Program at Aurora Fashion Week Russia in St. Petersburg during the Fall-Winter 2012-13 season in April 10-14th, 2012. This much anticipated series of fashion events will feature a capsule collection tribute to the iconic style of Ludmila Gurchenko by the Russian-American designer Leonid Gurevich, who worked extensively with the late Russian acting and singing star.

“Through the Cold War, the cultural thaw, perestroika and all the ups and downs of the era, Ludmila Gurchenko remained an embodiment of individuality. She was and continues to be my Muse. Russia’s favorite Songbird, she performed in my dresses. Impossible to describe what this invitation means to me. It was in Leningrad (St Petersburg) that she always found support and inspiration even in the most dramatic moments of her life. This is a high honor, which also coincides with the 20th anniversary of my emigration from Russia,” commented Gurevich.

Gurevich caught the grand fashion bug in the wardrobe workshops of the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow frequently visiting his mother who worked as an embroiderer there. As a student at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Gurevich was awarded the prestigious CFDA Scholarship Award and became the first student ever to be featured on the cover of the FIT Magazine. He continues to develop capsule collections and work with private atelier clients, presenting his works at various venues including the Museum of Russian Art.  As a fashion illustrator, Gurevich has worked with designers Zac Posen, Alecia Zameska and Anya Caliendo Couture Millinery Atelier among others.   Celebrities who have worn his clothes include Lil Kim, Sasha Gradiva, Ari Gold, Doe Deere, Amanda Lepore, and Daphne Guinness. A fashion statement in and of himself, his photos frequent style and celebrity blogs and recently he landed in the New York Times under the “Head Turners” title, photographed by the legendary Bill Cunningham.

The Aurora-exclusive collection garnered early media buzz by drawing many supporters via Kickstarter featured fundraising campaign. “I needed help to complete and present the collection in a manner befitting its extraordinary Muse and I am overwhelmed by the enthusiastic support it received! I cannot wait to present it in St. Petersburg”, said Gurevich.

Aurora Fashion Week Russia is rapidly becoming a must-follow international fashion platform and has already welcomed such prominent designers as Manish Aurora, Mark Fast, David Koma, Mary Katrantzou, and last year, in partnership with DEPESHA, Custo Barcelona. This season’s program highlight is the Russian debut show by the American couture maverick Thom Browne.

Yes We Can!

Dear Friends and Supporters,

When we decided to embark on Leonid Gurevich's Kickstarter campaign we had our doubts: Will it work? Would we be able to offer meaningful rewards? Can we meet the funding deadline and total pledge amount?

119 of you have showed us that YES WE CAN.  And we are grateful!

119 of you believe in Leonid's dream and you share his passion for fashion and art. And we are thankful!

119 of you brought us to today, with only 8% away from our goal of raising $15,000 and 14 days to go until the final deadline!  And we are excited!

With only days remaining until the final deadline, we kindly ask that you email your closest five friends a personal note and a link to what has become one of the most dynamic campaigns in the Russian-American fashion and art communities:

By sending an email to your closest five friends, you will help us reach almost 600 people, this should help us successfully conclude this campaign early, so we can focus on finalizing this collection and organize it for shipment in coming weeks.

We are touched and honored that you continue to support Leonid Gurevich's debut in Europe.

With kind regards,

Stephan Rabimov
