Ready...set...go!

Dear Loyal and Patient Backers,

We've got great news! We passed our final building inspection today, and are ready to bring delicious frozen confections to downtown Walnut Creek!

Our projected soft-opening date is Thursday, February 21st. We'll be open for limited hours through the weekend of the 23rd. Stay tuned for more specific info about our hours.

Your rewards are going in the mail this weekend, so you can claim your free scoops and pints when we open on the 21st. Those of you who plan to pick up your t-shirts may do that as well.

It's looking like our grand opening party for Kickstarter backers will take place the weekend of March 8-10th. More details on that to follow.

We can't wait to serve you in the shop. After multiple construction delays, and many, many lessons learned, we're thrilled with how the shop has taken shape. Check out these pictures of our interior, and Deb's first batch of crispy, buttery, hand-made waffle cones!

Wow! You've blown us away again!

Hi Wonderful Backers,

We've been blown away, once again, by your generosity and support of Lottie's! Our matching grant was a huge success. We are beside ourselves with gratitude. The 53 of you who were motivated by the match to increase your pledges, or to pledge for the first time, helped us raise $3037 in matching funds.

Thank you, thank you, thank you (we just can't say it enough)!

We will be contacting our donor, and this increase will bring us very close to our ultimate goal of $18,000. We still have a little ways to go, and 4 more days on Kickstarter. Please continue to help spread the word.

Here's a sample Facebook post (or use it for the beginning of an email):  I supported Lottie's Creamery on Kickstarter. They only have a few days left to reach their goal. Consider supporting them if you love small community-minded businesses and delicious from-scratch ice cream.

On the "When will Lottie's open?" front...the exciting news is that construction has gotten underway, and things should be moving quickly. You, our generous backers, will be the first to know when we have a firm opening date. Deb is working on her recipe for Pumpkin Pie ice cream and other yummy fall flavors.

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts,

Deb & the Lottie's Team

Great news! Pledges over the next three days will be matched by an angel investor!

Dear Backers,

I can't thank you enough for the support you have shown so far. I've been touched by your pledges, Facebook posts and belief in Lottie's. My last day of full-time employment at my non-profit job was on Friday, so now my time is 100% devoted to my new career. How many of us have fantasized about quitting our day jobs and going after our true passion? Let me tell you, it's a bit little terrifying and totally exhilarating!

We're moving forward with construction of our retail space and have hit a roadblock with the building's foundation, so reaching our goal on Kickstarter is more important than ever. We have 9 days left to raise just under $7000, and we believe that with your help we can do it!

We have great news. A donor has promised to match all of the pledges that come in over the next three days. This includes pledge increases from those who have already backed us. This a huge opportunity for us and we need your help getting the word out. The best way you can help right now is by sharing our Kickstarter page widely. Let folks know that you support Lottie's, and they should too.

Remember, if we don't reach our goal no one gets charged and Lottie's gets zero. We've raised just over $11,000. It would be soooooo sad to see that disappear.

I'll be back in the test kitchen tomorrow perfecting some of our delicious flavors. I can't wait to serve you a scoop!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart,

Deb

We're 25% Funded, Because You Rock!

Hi Backers!

We are just two weeks into our campaign, and you've blown us away with your generosity. We are 25% funded ($4,522 pledged) and we have 22 days left to hit our mark ($18K). Your support means a great deal to me. I'm putting my heart and soul into this endeavor, including cashing out my retirement fund, and continuing to work my day job, plus Lottie's on nights and weekends to make it happen.

We've been working on some yummy test flavors. So far Fresh Mint Chip, Irish Coffee (coffee ice cream with a hint of Irish whiskey) and Chunky Peanut Butter and Fudge (peanut butter ice cream with candied peanuts and a fudge swirl) have been the favorites, and we can't wait for you to taste them!

There's one thing to note about Kickstarter ...If we don't reach our $18K goal, we don't receive any of your generous donations. You don't get charged and we lose your pledge. So if you haven't already, please help me by being Lottie's evangelists! Link to the Kickstarter page (http://kck.st/TDFf9i) on your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, or anywhere you spend your time online.

I can't tell you how much your support means to me right now. You completely rock.
