Omicron Protocol is an “intra-apocalyptic” miniatures skirmish game for 1-4 players, where you control a squad of unique characters as well as a 3rd party enemy to harass your opponent. Fight as rival factions trying to survive in their locked-down city. Every character in the game is represented by a detailed 32mm miniature, possessing their own rich history and personality, as well as powerful cybernetic abilities! Play competitive, free-for-all, or solo/co-op modes and battle it out through various scenarios to survive!
Note that ALL pledges will cost more for late-pledge and retail vs this Kickstarter!
The following descriptions and short videos will teach you the basic mechanics of Omicron Protocol! For more detailed game playthrough videos, check out the next section!
Check out these short Learn to Play videos to see the game in action!
We have been working with our community to develop these modes. You can learn the general concept of the various modes in the videos below. There is also a solo 1-round playthrough in the following "Gameplay Videos" section.
This collection of gameplay videos highlight the deep tactical decisions involved with each round of the game, yet how fast it can be played. Check them out to get a feel for the gameplay!
Board Game Spotlight Playthrough
It was super fun to watch Derek and Lizzy Funkhouser battle it out in our "Supply Line" scenario, with the Peacemakers and Survivalists. The best part about this playthrough is that they finished a FULL game in less than an hour. This shows off how fast this game can play, and the "Lunch Time Version" short game is even faster!
Who will win? Watch and find out!
Short Game ("Lunch-Time") Playthrough - Animals vs Survivalists
Our 2nd video features the SHORT game mode, and presents an asymmetrical scenario—watch the Animals battle the Survivalists to determine the fate of "half-CyMS". Big thanks again to William Brown of the Hungry Gamer for assisting us with the video production! In this mode, you still get most of the gameplay experience, but in less than 45 min!
Solo/Co-Op Mode - 1 Round Playthrough
See how the solo/co-op mode is played in this video. We are still improving this mode, so the final gameplay and cards may be different than what you see here.
Want more? The "Bank Heist" playthrough video involves lots of tactical discussion and DONUT eating. Check it out!
Below we have a few other cool playthroughs you can watch to get an even better idea of the game!

Omicron Protocol comes with a fully realized world built by its creators. In addition to a short biography, each character also has a longer backstory that gives you insight into their personality.
Below is a short introduction to the “intra-apocalyptic” state of Omicron Protocol. More than SEVENTY THOUSAND words have been written, with tens of thousands still to go before the first "season" is complete.
Everything can change in a single month. The cutting edge West Coast city of San Lazaro had been the epicenter of a cybernetics tech revolution in 2044, ushering all of humanity into the future...but in the year 2050, a mysterious viral menace toppled the utopian city with a wave of infection and death. The disease could not be stopped; it evolved to surpass any countermeasure, mutated to evade any cure, and within days San Lazaro was overwhelmed by the infected.
Martial law descended on the city, as barricades and armed soldiers divided the streets into isolated sectors. Efforts to contain the outbreak were as useless as attempts to control the surging numbers of mysteriously insane and violent residents—a second catastrophe on the heels of the first. Dubbed ‘Cyber-Memetic Sociopaths’ by the media, with their actions blamed on an over-immersion in virtual reality, these ‘CyMS’ spread across the city in a wave of mindless, indiscriminate violence. With the infection spreading and the murderous CyMS rampaging, the government abandoned San Lazaro and its people after a mere two weeks.
All that remains of the city now is a twisted hellscape. The few survivors have banded together in hopes of escaping, while gangs once suppressed by the government have seized control. The CyMS are a constant threat on the streets, sowing fear and terror in their path. In this waking nightmare, your only chance of salvation is to join a faction powerful enough to dominate the foes that stand in your way.

We involved our community heavily in our game development and we plan to continue that into the future. Once fulfilled, we will support Omicron Protocol with tournament kits, league support, and continued game/story development. We plan to have an online scenario editor where our community can create and share scenarios for competitive and solo/co-op play!

Risks and challenges
This is Dead Alive Games’ first game, however we have been working on it for 2 years and have absorbed every piece of wisdom we could find. The game is 98% complete. The core rules are finished, the factions and characters are meticulously balanced, the sculpts and art for the core box and “Up to No Good” expansion are done. During the campaign we will be completing the hardcover art book and finalizing our solo/co-op mode, and a few other odds and ends. That said, this is a Kickstarter and some small elements of the game may change based on community feedback, as we work to make this project the best that it can be.
We have lowered the goal significantly from our first campaign, for two reasons: 1) We are working with a manufacturer that allows a low minimum order, and 2) We have invested our own money to subsidize the molds for our miniatures.
We feel confident in our process and our partners in manufacturing and fulfillment, but delays can happen due to unforeseen circumstances. We have set our schedule to ensure that we meet or exceed your expectations.
During this process we will be transparent and communicate progress regularly. If anything unexpected occurs or we fall behind for any reason, you will be informed.
We can refund you within 14 days of the campaign’s end, fees included. After that, we can refund your pledge amount, minus Kickstarter fees, up until we start the fulfillment process. Once we have begun the fulfillment process, no refunds are possible.
