The Dirty Bourbon River Show & Company
Tour, Wardrobe & Equipment Proposal
This summer our band - the Dirty Bourbon River Show - is planning a 14 day tour for a class project at Loyola University New Orleans, where we all attend college. The Dirty Bourbon River Show is a mid-level regional grassroots operation with many fans in the gypsy, folk, cabaret, rock and New Orleans-style genres. We are planning on traveling with New Grass Country Club - a younger Loyola band - as an opener, who we will be mentoring on the road. We have toured on a smaller scale last summer, and have played over 50 shows in the New Orleans area.
We are planning a 2 week 14 stop regional tour around the Gulf Coast. The tour will embark on Friday, May 7th - the day after college finals - and will return to New Orleans on May 21st. Gregory Davis - one of the original founders of the Dirty Dozen Brass Band & primary booking contact for New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival - will be assisting us in booking this tour for the class our bandleader Noah Adams has with him - Venue Tour & Concert Management. We see this tour as a crucial step in our band's progress towards becoming a 100% DIY self-sustaining endeavor. Unfortunately there are many things we need that we cannot afford to make this happen. That is were you come into play...
We need to raise $3,000 - 3/5's of the amount we need to raise to make this tour fully functional. The other $2,000 will be raised by ourselves before May 1st through gigging and merchandise sales. We need microphones, a bass amp & head, guitar amp, a wireless accordion system, most importantly food, gasoline & lodging assistance, a van rental, a tour manager salary, a merchandise kicker, a serious wardrobe overhaul, funding for a marketing plan & advertising, and many other costly tangible goods.
I invite anyone who is interested in donating to this project to check out our various media and press on the internet. The music is good, and we are an extremely passionate and motivated team. Here are some links:
I hope you can become a part of this project. Thank you.
