When the Boss hands everyone a large pile of assignments all due tomorrow, there's not much choice but to stay Overtime. Everyone just wants to go home, and will make sure they are the first to do so!
Overtime is a humorous interactive card game for 3-6 players, where players try to finish up their assignments in any way they can, so they are the first to leave work behind. Working hard can do the trick, but having your dear colleagues “help” out by giving them your share of the work... sometimes the easier way out is the best way! And all this under the watchful eye of the Boss.
Will you be the hard and honest worker, or will you play foul and dirty to get the job done, the choice is on you!
Looking at a card game you expect a lot of cards, right? Well, you are right! So check it out:
Shown above is everything you get with the base game!
Included in the base game are:
- 120 main deck cards (the white backed cards)
- 30 Assignment cards (the black backed cards)
- 6 starting Employee cards (The Average Joe/Joanna)
- 6 reference cards
- 1 time counter card and 8-sided die
- 1 6-sided Work die
- 40 Snooze tokens
In addition, all games pledged now will include "The Kickstarter" promo card, just for you during this campaign!
So that's quite a few cards, but what do they do, you ask? Well, have a look!
Plus more! Well maybe, who know... It all depends on this next bit, and we'll just have to wait and see!
The workload is pilling up... how much can we do?
Play action cards, draw new cards and discard any extra! This is in short a description of a players turn. It's that simple! Of course, you'll also want to react to the cards your opponents play, lest they beat you to the finish line.
Here's a quick overview of how the game is played!
If you want to know in more detail, check out the WIP prototype rules. We'll update the rule book along the way, as the design and campaign goes along!
Or give it a look on board game geek on the link below:
You can also create your own copy and try it out yourself, using the freePrototype Print n Play files! Just have fun!

Let's have a look at what's in store:
The $1 pledge is for those that just want to support! The $1 goes a long way in the run to the final goal, and all of the support is very well appreciated!
This also gives access to the pledge manager at the end of the campaign, if you change your mind!
The P'n'P pledge is great for those that like to make the games themselves! You save yourself some waiting time for the game to arrive, and save on the shipping cost!
The base game pledge has everything you need to play the game, plus the exclusive "the Kickstarter" card! You can even grab it at a 20% discount in the first 48h!
The group pledge is perfect for those that want to save some on shipping! 5 games for the price of 4! Come together with your friends on this bulk order!
The "Employee of the Month" pledge offers a chance to appear in the game! In addition to everything the base game pledge has to offer and the special credits, we will make a stylized illustration of you that fits the games style! In addition, there is no extra shipping cost to your pledge, and it goes to any part of the world!
The "Employee of the Year" pledge is the very top! That special, exclusive "the Kickstarter" card we keep mentioning? With this pledge, that can be you! Make your way to the table off all the other backers, and in addition to getting all the same goodies as the "Employee of the Month", you also get a special something from the Boss!
Of course, we want to give retailers the option of receiving all the same goodies for their store as everyone else for their store! If you are a retailer, and are interested in getting some copies at a discounted price, send us a message at email@example.com.
Shipping is obviously a major player in any Kickstarter campaign. We have decided to complete all of our shipping through fulfillment centers, and have chosen reliable and experienced partners.
Overtime will ship world-wide! Right now we are able to offer VAT-friendly shipping to the following areas:
For the rest of the world, we want to offer as fair prices as we can. Have a look at the table below where you can see an estimate of how much it will cost to send the game to you!
Shipping too costly for your country? Send us a message and we'll see how we can help!

Risks and challenges
Running a Kickstarter campaign is no easy task, especially for a first campaign. We are well aware of this, and are not taking this Kickstarter lightly. We want to make our first product an example for any that follow, and strive to make the best possible product we can muster!
As with any project, delays and chances for mistake can happen, but we are confident we can tackle them, and here's why:
The game itself is well tested and complete. While the game design is 100% complete, illustrations and artwork are at around 65% ready at the start of the campaign, and we expect them to be finished within a month after the campaign is over, if not during the course of the campaign itself. Our team is set on delivering the best product we can, and everyone is devoted to the project goal.
We already have a quote ready with a manufacturer. While this may be our first Kickstarter project, it is definitely not theirs, and we are satisfied with the quality of their previous products. We have had back and forth communication for a couple of months now to ensure the best possible and most accurate quote, so production can start without any delay. In addition, given their experience in previous Kickstarter campaigns, we are confident that they know what they are doing.
We plan on using fulfillment centers to deliver all your pledges, and have chosen experienced partners in this area, with port to door services to ensure the packages are delivered safe and in due time.
And in the end, we are working with a team of experts in crowdfunding, who have helped many previous campaigns succeed and pull through. Any holes we may have, you can be sure they will patch up!
Of course, unexpected problems can still arise. We will take on these problems as best as we can, and with full transparency, keeping you up to date along the way. We are ready to listen to the community, and as backers of previous campaigns ourselves, we know what we as backers would expect, and therefore, what we will aim to deliver.
So thank you for backing, and let's make this project happen together!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
