Frequently Asked Questions
DAX holds 5 cards in its man compartment. In addition, there is a slot on the back of DAX that can hold 1-2 additional card(s).
We have tested 5-6 cards to be the optimum capacity for DAX. Add any more and the wallet starts becoming bulky and the cascading becomes too long. We also found that for many people, the number of cards that they REALLY need to carry around is around 5 or less.
We do understand that depending on the culture around where you live, a minimalist low capacity wallet like DAX may not always be ideal. If you are the guy that carries more than 6 cards, the good news is that smartphones are becoming increasingly more powerful in trimming down what we need to carry. So hopefully it won't be long before DAX becomes more relevant to everyone else!
Meanwhile, you can check out these existing apps that may reduce what you carry!
*not forgetting the Starbucks app which the articles did not mention. A life saver for caffeine addicts like ourselves! ;)
Having said that, we are not discounting the possibility of coming up with larger capacity incarnations, although fulfilling this batch will still be our foremost priority. Some ideas that we've been bouncing around include a bi fold version with two cascading tabs, or even a modular version which is either expandable to your needs. We are definitely excited to see how we can develop DAX further, and all this is possible thanks to your support! :)Last updated:
It would be a real bummer if the magnetic snap destroyed the credit cards, so we've taken precautions to make sure it doesn't!
Credit cards are in risk of demagnetization only if the magnets are in direct contact with the magnetic strips. Our magnets are embedded within the canvas material, which is thick enough to lower the magnetic field below the strength required to scramble a typical credit card, even if it’s placed in constant proximity with the card. Furthermore, we will be adding an extra layer of material between the magnet and the cards for extra precaution. However, the magnetic strength is still sufficient to prevent the cards from sagging out.
From what we have researched beforehand, most people do not have trouble with magnetic snaps in purses affecting their cards anyway, even for those purses with snap in magnets where the magnetic snap is in direct contact with the cards. Furthermore, demagnetization ranks much lower as a cause of destroying credit cards compared to physical damages such as heat, scratches or small bents. Hence we are confident that it is extremely unlikely for DAX to ruin your credit card!

DAX is approximately 10 cm long and 7 cm wide. When loaded with 5 cards and 3 US dollar notes, DAX is around 1.3 cm thick.Last updated:
A few of you suggested RFID blocking, and we hear you guys. However, after much research and discussion, our team has ultimately decided to leave DAX without RFID blocking. We came to this conclusion because of a combination of the following reasons:
1. There are other good alternatives - RFID blocking sleeves for cards or simply aluminum foil
2. It requires an additional lining layer which makes DAX thicker. We want DAX to be as slim as possible
3. RFID theft may be more of a scare tactic than a real problem worth worrying about
4. We feel that the tap-and-go convenience suits DAX's personality better than fortress-like security
We don't deny that introducing RFID can bring a greater peace of mind. However, at the end of the day, we still believe that the benefits are outweighed by the cons, and we hope you understand our decision!

Unfortunately that's because we need to custom order plastic sheets for each shade of dividers as those colors are uncommon. This requires heavy investment that won't make sense unless with large quantities. Hence we really need your help for this goal!Last updated:
We are currently working on making and releasing a few limited edition leather DAX, handcrafted by one of our very own co-founder (Joo Tat) who has been crafting leather goods for more than 5 years. However, these will likely only be released after the campaign period and exclusive priority will go to our backers!Last updated:
